With the Wii U probably less than three months away from being released to the world, gamers can start to look more closely at the game launch list and decide which games they are excited for, and which games they wish were coming out this holiday season.
It will be great to have a new installment in the great Super Mario Bros series, but there are a few classic Nintendo titles that will not be a part of the Wii U’s launch.
First off, Super Smash Bros. 4 would be amazing to see on the next-generation Wii U, but it is clear that gamers will not be enjoying this game when the system debuts in a few months.
Good news for this game is it is confirmed and is currently in development. This was found in an early August interview IGN conducted with Super Smash Bros. creator Masahiro Sakurai.
Sakurai said the team is in the process of developing the game and that they have also been thinking of news ways to innovate the Nintendo fighter.
“The game system itself is complete, so we don’t want to make it 3D or introduce complicated controls just for the sake of it.
“However, I am thinking of ways we can introduce a slightly different, fun experience all the while keeping the usual frantic game play,” Sakurai said.
Super Smash Bros 4 is expected to be released sometime during 2013 for both the Nintendo Wii U and 3DS.
Next up is Mario Party Wii U, which apparently already has an in-depth Wiki site with alleged information regarding the game.
You should check out this site if you are interested in seeing what some people have come up with. Certainly some of the details will be in the game just by coincidence, but it makes you wonder how much of it will be in the game because of its thoroughness.
One feature that will almost certainly be built into the game is the ability to create your own Smash character and have them go up against the rest of foes from the Nintendo world. It would have been great to see this game accompany the Wii U upon release.
There currently is no release date set, nor is there any real guess as to where the title will be released, but we shall keep you informed on that front.
Finally, the third game that would have been brilliant to see come out with the Wii U is the infamous and always entertaining Mario Kart Wii U.
There has been zero confirmation on details or whether or not the game will even be developed, but logical assumptions will tell everyone that at some point, there will be a Mario Kart Wii U that hits store shelves.
This guess was furthered a little less than a year ago when Mario Kart producer Hideki Konno told IGN that they indeed are considering adding this game to the Wii U game list.
Konno said he couldn’t get into specifics but he really wants to develop a Mario Kart game that utilizes all of the unique features the Wii U has to offer.
“I can’t get into the specifics, but I do want to create a new and enjoyable Mario Kart that uses the unique functions of the Wii U.
“Knowing that Retro Studios had a strong track record and a long history of creating quality products with Nintendo, I asked them to collaborate with us on aspects like course and character design.
“The course designers and artists at both EAD and Retro Studios worked closely together to create what I consider to be very prolific and high-quality work,” Konno said.
The one feature that all of us crave to be placed in every one of these games is the ability to play with friends online in the Miiverse.
Who would not want to play Smash Bros with friends in another city? Who would not want to play some Party with friends in another state? And who would not want to play Mario Kart and enjoy various competitive beverages alongside their friends online?
With the Miiverse being placed into the Wii U it’s very likely these three titles could see the feature placed in the game.
Until anymore official information regarding these games comes to light, enjoy what is in the near future from Nintendo with the Wii U.
