If your dream wedding is an intimate affair in a little cottage overlooking the Arroyo Seco, then this contest is not for you. But if you want an all-expense-paid trip to Pasadena for a wedding aboard a Rose Parade float, two tickets to the Rose Bowl Game, the dress, the tux, the rings, the hair and makeup, and even the wedding license fees, then hurry to the Farmers Insurance Facebook page to enter.
Getting hitched while sailing along Colorado Boulevard on New Year’s Day 2013 in front of 50 million or so viewers beats tying the knot on a cruise ship, and there will be more flowers than a florist’s shop surrounding the lucky couple and the six witnesses who can come along for the ride.
Farmers Insurance makes it all possible with “The Dream Wedding” contest. A live wedding on a float—fittingly named “The Love Float—is a history-making first in the 124-year history of the Rose Parade, and it will be attention-getting.
But hurry—the contest closes at 11:59 pm. on Oct. 14, 2012. To enter, fill out the questionnaire and upload a picture on the Facebook page or the Farmers website. A couple must be currently engaged, 21 years of age or older, and legal residents of the United States (except where prohibited). Only one entry per couple is allowed.
Here’s the timeline for selection: Four finalists will be selected between Oct. 15 and Oct. 29 by a panel of judges based on the answers a couple submits. The Grand Prize winner will be chosen by public voting that starts on Oct. 30 and goes through Nov. 13, and the winning couple will be announced before Thanksgiving. All four finalists will receive a $500 gift certificate.
The rules are pretty involved, so make sure to click on the “Official Rules” link and read all the terms and conditions.
Good luck! See you at the parade.
The theme of the 124th Rose Parade and 99th Rose Bowl Game is “Oh, the Places You’ll Go!” The Tournament of Roses is a celebration that lasts several weeks in the fall and winter, with the high points being the Rose Parade presented by Honda and the Rose Bowl Game presented by VIZIO on Tuesday, Jan. 1, 2013.
