Asians, who live in “one of the most earthquake prone areas of the world, believe that animals have a natural ability to anticipate earthquakes.” In 1975 the Chinese evacuated the city of Haicheng due to reports of odd animal behavior and their caution helped them escape a 7.3 magnitude quake and avoid possibly 150,000 casualties.
In a less fortunate event in the Sichuan Province of China on May, 12, 2008, people ignored animal instinct warnings that could have spared the city 87,000 casualties. In another instance where animals warned humans, legions of toads filled the streets and zoo animals were behaving strangely days prior to the great quake of Mianzhu, a city where more than 2,000 people were later killed. “Zebras inexplicably butted heads. A couple of elephants almost hurt a zoo worker as they wildly swung their trunks. Peacocks screeched just minutes before the quake finally struck.” http://modernfolktales.com/natural-disasters/earthquake-stories/earthquake-warning-signs/
Jim Berkland believes so much in animal instincts to predict earthquakes, he states earthquake probabilities increase with the increase of lost and found “missing pet” advertisements. Sounds crazy, yet his famous warning to a California newspaper about a potential World Series earthquake days before it happened in 1989 was, he claims, based on this method.
It seems that God provides instincts of animals to warn us of earthquakes. Missing animals are on the rise and front page headlines read, “Animals Gone Wild,” yet so many religious people remain unmoved and unalarmed. As “church versus state” forces collide like geological plates, the state grinds over the church challenging to annihilate any freedom of religion. Yet, protecting freedom of religion and conscience, was an important reason the states waged the Revolutionary War.
In Phyllis Schlafly’s book, “No Higher Power,” she makes us aware, according to the US Constitutional authors, one of the Constitution’s main purposes of the separation of church and state was to protect freedom of religion and the freedom of conscience.” In other words protecting your right to believe what is right and what is wrong without penalties and persecution.
Phyllis Schlafly’s writes, “James Madison stated of all the properties they shed blood over he described conscience as ‘the most sacred of all property.’” Ms. Schlafly adds, “George Washington stated, ‘Religious Liberty was the motive that induced me to the field of battle.’” George Washington may not have crossed the Delaware River that Christmas morning if not to fight for the right to say his bible disagrees with homosexuality, for instance.
Dear Judeo-Christian, we must join the revolutionary war but this time it’s not the British who are coming, but your own president, and the only shots we need to fire are with our votes this November. Review for yourself the records of hostilities by the Barack Obama Administration levied against the church.
Ms. Schlafly tells us, “Barack Obama has compiled a record of hostility to religion that is unmatched by any other president in American history,” so if you desire to remain free to exercise your conscience in America, then heed Phyllis Schlafly’s warnings. Because her list is so extensive, I will spread out the list documenting the many attacks by our president on our religious freedom in this and subsequent articles.
Here’s the first part of the long list of how president Obama brazenly violated, and will continue to violate, the conscience of the catholic (universal) church:
- “One of Obama’s first executive orders in January 2009 reversed the practice of the Bush administration and gave taxpayer dollars to non-governmental organizations that perform abortions abroad.”
- “In February 2009, Obama announced his intention to eliminate conscience protections that were designed to allow pro-life nurses and doctors who work at federally funded hospitals to opt out of performing abortions or other practices they consider immoral. R. Albert Mohler Jr., president of the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary … warned that “the Obama administration is now ready to use the coercive power of the state to force medical personnel to perform acts they consider to be morally wrong and unhealthy for their patients.” He called it “a tyrannical trampling of individual conscience by the power of the state.”
- “Each year, one in six patients is cared for in a Catholic hospital. It is well known that these hospitals will not perform abortions. Without conscience protections, these institutions, which provide services to millions of patients, may shut down rather than be forced to perform surgical or medical abortions.”
- “In April 2009, Secretary Janet Napolitano’s Department of Homeland Security had produced a report on “Rightwing extremism.” One of the possible threats to America’s national security was, allegedly, the potential rampant pro-life terrorism: “Rightwing extremism in the United States can be broadly divided … and may include groups and individuals that are dedicated to a single issue, such as opposition to abortion or immigration.”
Sometimes it just takes a little instinct to foresee an impending catastrophic earthquake. Someone corrected smart men for not heeding those signs: “’Today it will be stormy, for the sky is red and overcast.’ You know how to interpret the appearance of the sky, but you cannot interpret the signs of the times.” (Jesus in Matt 16:3 – NIV)
My church and religious brethren, I hope you value your right to speak about your religious beliefs as much George Washington did. Because of what he did you don’t need to start a revolution but just exercise your right to vote. So the only gun you’ll need to load is your voting gun, and the only lever you’ll need to pull resides in the voting booth next to the name of a president who will not threaten your freedom.
Whether he is democrat or republican, or black or white is immaterial, but it just so happens the one who will protect our religious freedom in 2012 is not a black democrat but that’s okay since freedom is color blind.
