Week six of “Dancing with the Stars” begins tonight and it features a really big lineup of country music superstars and country dancing. On October 27, ABC executives released details and announced that Taylor Swift, Jason Mraz and Big Little Town are all set to appear this week for an unforgettable week of competition and performances.
It all begins on Monday night, when the eight couples dance to a country hit. The twist is that the celebrity must break away from his or her pro partner and perform solo at some point during the routine. During the evening, the Troupe will accompany Little Big Town as they perform their smash hit, “Pontoon.”
Then, the remaining eight couples will perform together in a Freestyle Group Dance. During the group routine, country legends Big & Rich, along with Cowboy Troy, will perform a medley of “Save a Horse (Ride a Cowboy)” and “I Play Chicken with the Train,” two of the show’s most exciting freestyle songs from previous seasons. This is the first time the show’s Group Dance will be accompanied by musical guests.
Tuesday’s results show promises to be even more exciting. Multi-platinum recording artist and six-time Grammy winner Taylor Swift will perform her mega hit single, “We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together,” from her new blockbuster album, “Red.” In addition, Grammy-winning singer and songwriter Jason Mraz will hit the stage to perform his chart topping hit single, “I Won’t Give Up,” from his latest album, “Love is a Four Letter Word.” Pro dancers Chelsie Hightower and Mark Ballas will dance during his live performance.
Also on Tuesday, “Macy’s Stars of Dance” welcomes RJ Durell and Nick Florez, two of the hottest choreographers in the business, having worked with Katy Perry, Cher Lloyd and, most recently, Pink. Their dance will bring a modern day twist on Marie Antoinette, featuring incredible costumes, amazing hair and makeup, and 14 of some of the best dancers out there.
The judges’ scores and viewers’ votes from last week will be combined with those from this week to determine which celebrity will be voted off next. To review, here’s a look at last week’s leader board.
