2008 West 30th
Antonio Brown is the first of three choreographers invited to create new works on Verb the 2012-13 season, Explore.Discover.Verb Ballets. Donald Rosenberg of The Cleveland Plain Dealer said, “So it’s no wonder that the cheerful graduate of the Cleveland School of the Arts and New York’s Juilliard School was a bundle of energy working with the Verb dancers or sitting still — sort of — for an interview,” click to read the full interview and show preview here. Brown will also be performing a solo before leaving Sunday for a five week European tour with Bill T. Jones/Arnie Zane Dance Company.
Tom Evert set his acclaimed solo, The President, on Verb. The solo originally choreographed for himself featured Evert’s flair for character work and the sweeping lyricism of a waltz that had learned in the Paul Taylor Dance Company. Brian Murphy performing the solo will portray this great archetype. Evert first worked with Murphy as a student in Cuyahoga Valley Youth Ballet . This re-staging is ripe with excitement for the November election!
Verb Ballets dancer, Brian Murphy, choreographed a passionate duet, The Road Together, also on the program.
Tickets available by calling the Verb Ballets at 216-397-3757 or online at www.verbballets.org.
