At this point, you’ve probably breezed through all four campaigns of Resident Evil 6. While it’s often sad to see a game go, being able to set aside Resident Evil will give you the time to dive into the mix of titles releasing the week of Oct 7. If you thought you would finally have the time to focus back on your schoolwork, though, you were sorely mistaken.
Launching this week are:
- Dishonored (10/09)
- XCOM: Enemy Unkonwn (10/09)
- Just Dance 4 (10/09)
With Just Dance 4, you and your closest friends can groove to your heart’s desire to such songs as Just Bieber’s “Beauty and a Beat”, the unfortunately catchy “Call Me Maybe”, the B-52’s classic “Rock Lobster”, and 45 other well known tracks. Just Dance 4 introduces the implementation of “Dancer Cards”, which are customizable to show the online world your favorite song, best score, and the in-game challenges you’ve completed.
If you’re looking for something a bit less bright and sunny, then you’ll want to turn your attention to the dystopian world of Dishonored. Gamers take the reigns of Corvo Attano, a former bodyguard of the Empress turned assassin. Utilizing a mix of stealth combat, unusual gadgets, and an assortment of useful supernatural powers, Dishonored launches a tale of revenge fueled by unique gameplay and an impressive cast of voice acting that includes the likes of Susan Sarandon, Brad Dourif, and Michael Madsen.
XCOM: Enemy Unknown reintroduces a classic series that started in mid-90’s and revolved around the constant struggle between man and extraterrestrial life. Enemy Unknown brings back the turn-based interface as well as such strategical mechanics as researching alien technology, intercepting UFOs, and interacting with national governments. Despite being turn-based (or maybe due to it), Enemy Unknown promises to constantly leave gamers as the edge of the seat with heart-pounding, strategy driven combat scenarios.
If you’re looking to get your hands on either of these anticipated titles, then you’ll want to head down to your local gaming retailer pronto. Reserve your copy of Dishonored at the Gamestop in the Galleria Mall in Henderson and receive the Arcane Assassin Pack, which gives Corvo three perks throughout the game. While you’re at it, throw $5.00 down on Enemy Unknown to guarantee you get the Elite Soldier Pack, which includes a classic X-COM Soldier inspired by the original UFO Defense, the Soldier Deco Pack which unlocks new armor upgrades, and the ability to completely customize the color of your character’s armor.
