Earlyshares.com, an equity based crowdfunding platform, is sponsoring The Small Business Challenge℠ with the goal of assisting small business owners with job creation in America. In The Small Business Challenge℠ companies have a chance to compete for a share of $50,000 in cash and resources for marketing.
“We know that small business growth is one of the keys to helping the U.S. economy bounce back,” commented Maurice Lopes, founder and CEO of EarlyShares.com.
The contest launched over Labor Day weekend on Sept. 1 and it’s goal is to help boost the economy and support small business owners. Additionally the community or crowd will be given a chance to vote on which small businesses should be funded. Companies that enter the contest must pitch how the Small Business Challenge℠ will assist their business with creating more jobs. A panel of judges will decide on the small businesses that display the most potential growth and job creation. Then public vote will determine the winners which will be announced on Nov. 9.
- First Place: One (1) winner will receive $25,000 in cash and advertising support
- Second Place: $15,000 in cash and advertising support
- Third Place: $10,000 in cash and advertising support
To qualify, small businesses must submit an application at SMBchallenge.com and receive a minimum of 100 votes from their supporters through social media and email campaigns. The submission, nomination and voting process is from Sept. 1 to Oct. 31. The three prize winners will be selected by voters between Nov. 2 and 7.
“More than 3.5 million new businesses are founded each year, but credit is tight right now, and many entrepreneurs outside of hubs like Silicon Valley and New York have a difficult time competing for funding from venture capitalists and angel investors,” affirmed Lopes. “Through the Small Business Challenge, we want to help fill that gap and give a boost to promising companies that have the most potential for job creation so that they continue to build their businesses and stimulate economic growth.”
