New Page Books has released a book that allows readers to examine psychic abilities through the lenses of experience and science. Nancy du Tertre’s new book, “Psychic Intuition: Everything You Ever Wanted to Ask but Were Afraid to Know,” is a 288-page paperback that is essential reading material for all Witches and practitioners of the Craft. The book examines all of the psychic senses including clairolfaction, clairgustation, clairaudience, clairvoyance, and clairintuition as well as the trainability of such skills. The book was released on August 22, 2012 and is sold by New Page Books; It can also be found in major bookstores and is priced at $16.99. A Kindle and a Nook version are available.
In ‘Psychic Intuition,’ Nancy du Tertre explains her reasons for writing the book:
“I wrote this book with the specific purpose of trying to logically explain the illogical experience of intuition and psychic ability. I do not try to explain the origin of psychic phenomena. I wanted to bridge the gap between skeptics and scientists on the one hand, and believers and intuitives on the other.”
To that end, the author succeeds in providing the reader with an information-rich body of work as she examines the latest scientific findings in support of psychic phenomena. Whether or not the book can convert an intransigent skeptic into a believer or someone that is even remotely open to the possibility of psychic experiences remains in question. Nevertheless, Nancy leaves no stone unturned as she explores the human sensory experience, perception, newly identified human senses and how cognitive biases shape human perception. She also delves into how psychic senses can be trained and provides the reader with exercises at the end of every chapter.
‘Psychic Intuition’ book contents
Du Tertre’s book contains a foreword by Gary E. Schwartz Ph.D., an introduction, 18 chapters, a conclusion, bibliography and an index. Readers have the opportunity to find out more about the latest scientific findings and how they relate to psychic abilities. The commonalities between savants, autistics, synesthetes and psychics are examined, along with how the differences between right and left-brained cognitive processes influence or hinder the reception and interpretation of psychic experiences. The book contains personal interviews with famed psychics, Nancy’s personal psychic experiences and a seemingly endless supply of scientific and medical references.
For readers seeking a book that examines the trainability of psychic abilities while refraining from offering retreaded information on psychic phenomena, Du Tertre’s book is ideal. The author of ‘Psychic Intuition’ explains why she identifies the notion of a sixth sense as a myth; Examines the distinctions between men and women in terms of psychic ability and the differences between psychic and normal senses. What’s more, readers can find out more about the differences between psychosis, hallucinations, mental illnesses and real psychic experiences.
