Donald Trump is offering President Obama $5 million dollars for a donation to a charity of choice five million dollars if Obama releases his college applications and transcripts and his passport records. But would it not be nice if Donald Trump had offered another five million dollars to Mitt Romney or a charity of his choice for releasing the last ten years of his tax records.
Because Senator Harry Reid (D-NV) said he had it on good authority from a “reliable source” that the former Massachusetts governor and presidential candidate had paid no taxes for ten years.
We really could use The Donald’s help on this tax return thing. It is important because Harry Reid said at the time that it is “clear Mitt Romney is hiding something.”
Surely, The Donald must agree with that assessment, since he believes everybody is hiding something.
“People who make as much money as Mitt Romney have many tricks at their disposal to avoid paying taxes. We already know that Romney has exploited many of these loopholes, stashing his money in secret, overseas accounts in places like Switzerland and the Cayman Islands,” he said in a statement
“When it comes to answering the legitimate questions the American people have about whether he avoided paying his fair share in taxes or why he opened a Swiss bank account, Romney has shut up. But as a presidential candidate, it’s his obligation to put up, and release several years’ worth of tax returns just like nominees of both parties have done for decades,” Reid added. “There is only one thing he can do to clear this up, and that’s release his tax returns.”
So that is where The Donald comes into play. We desperately need to know anything and everything about a man (or in the future a woman) who would be President of the United States. Especially their finances. Where they hide their money. That type of thing.
Last December, on with MSNBC’s The Daily Rundown with Chuck Todd, Donald Trump made an ass of himself. At that time The White House National Examiner wrote that it was “a pathetic effort (by Trump) to inject himself back onto the national political scene.” Chuck Todd is one of the best reporters anywhere and one of the smartest reporters: street smart and otherwise. Nice try by Trump to demean Chuck Todd. Trump did nothing to hurt Todd, but plenty for more to see why Donald Trump’s venture into national politics makes Trump second-rate.
It seems this is a similar situation to the Chuck Todd incident geared toward reawakening the “racist birther crowd,” of which Donald Trump is “America’s racist birth-in-chief.”
“America’s racist birther-in-chief,” Donald Trump said he had a big, big announcement this afternoon. How do we know it was a big, big announcement. Well, The Donald said so, that is how. Donald Trump offered President Obama.
Let’s give The Donald the benefit of the doubt. Make Mitt Romney the same offer as you did with President Obama, except get the tax return. Ten years. No less.
Let’s discuss this in a little more depth and to make it even easier on Donald Trump, I am sure that he can donate half the five million to President Obama and the other half to Mitt Romney. That is, two and a half million for Obama. And two and a half million for Romney.
Nothing impossible about that math. Not like the Mitt Romney tax plan that the Tax Policy Center called “mathematically impossible.” This is possible.
Why not give Mitt Romney or his favorite charity money to release his tax returns? The public will help too Donald. Just ask.
If nothing else Donald, you can possibly work in Mitt Romney on your hit show, Celebrity Apprentice, to sweeten the deal. Romney doesn’t like to go on funny shows like SNL or Late Night with David Letterman. Nothing funny about your show.
Oh, and sorry, but President Obama isn’t available for the Celebrity Apprentice. After all, he will be running the country until January 20, 2017. It is a lot of work. Besides, he will be on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno soon.
