Hit-making trio The Band Perry will debut the act’s brand-new “Better Dig Two” single for music fans come Monday, Oct. 29, via a 2 p.m. (CT) a Rolling Stone live stream and country radio.
Signed to the Republic Nashville roster, The Band Perry’s fresh tune marks the first single from the siblings’ much-anticipated sophomore disc, which is set for official release in early 2013.
Jimmy Harnen, president of Republic Nashville/EVP Big Machine Label Group, said, “The Republic Nashville promotion team has been crisscrossing the United States for the past two weeks playing the song for country-radio programmers and have gotten amazing reviews!”
One who’s sampled the “Better Dig Two” track is Gregg Swedberg, Clear Channel Minneapolis operations manager and program director of KEEY. Says Swedberg: “On a sophomore album, you either play it safe and do the same old thing or you kick it up a notch. This song proves that TBP are here to be taken seriously. … I’ve been a fan of TBP since the very beginning. And this song proves to me that my trust in them as an artist has not been misplaced”.
In an Oct. 26 correspondence shared with quadrust.com, TBP’s Neil Perry said, “After spending countless hours in the studio working on our next album, we are very excited for everyone to hear our first single, ‘Better Dig Two.’”
“As we wrap up a great year of touring, we look forward to finishing this new record and delivering it to our fans everywhere,” added bandmate Reid Perry who, along with sister Kimberly Perry, rounds out the trio’s lineup.
The new single will be available for purchase at iTunes on Tuesday, Oct. 30, and the CMA Vocal Group of the Year nominees will debut “Better Dig Two” during the 46th Annual CMA Awards live broadcast on Thursday, Nov. 1, on ABC-TV. (Check local listings for viewing schedules.)
The Band Perry’s platinum, self-titled debut album features two gold-certified songs, including the No. 1-ranked “All Your Life” and “You Lie,” as well as the quadruple-platinum first single, “If I Die Young.”
The act’s chart success helped establish the sibling trio as ACM New Artist of the Year and CMT Music Award Breakthrough Video of the Year, not to mention as the “Best New Live Act” in category sponsored by Nationwide Insurance, among other accolades. .
At present, The Band Perry players have three nods in this year’s American Country Awards and they continue to record for their new album. Throughout November, they will join the European leg of Brad Paisley’s Virtual Reality World Tour 2012 and they’ll hit the road with Rascal Flatts’ Changed Tour in 2013.
