- Listen and follow-through on guidance
When you feel lost or troubled, acknowledge to yourself exactly what’s causing your concern. Then sit still for a moment and feel the sensations that accompany your story of what’s going on. This step is crucial. Your feelings need to be felt before they’ll go away. Buried feelings don’t die: they fester.
Next, stop yourself from obsessing about the details. That only energizes the problem. Then, speaking to the intelligence within you, simply say “Inner presence, give me clarity about this situation and show me how to find peace within.”
Keep an open mind. Try to believe that the answers will come and listen for clues. The faster you stop the conflicting conversations in your head, the quicker and clearer the results will be. When you harbor doubt about something you’re asking for, you are basically using part of your own energy and attention to fight against yourself. If you feel nervous that you won’t get the answer you want, shift your attention to your body and observe your sensations until you can sit in peace with your experience.
After you’ve fully felt the sensations caused by your ruminations, picture yourself in a scenario in which the issue has been totally resolved. Envision yourself feeling gratitude that the episode is over. You don’t have to know how: you need only feel the emotional vibration that accompanies a successful outcome.
To quickly reiterate: Acknowledge what’s causing your concern, feel your feelings (the sensations in your body not the thoughts in your head), drop the compulsion to obsess about the situation, (which only feeds it with fearful energy), ask your inner presence for guidance and visualize the desired outcome, then listen and follow through on any guidance you receive.
