A sex tape of Hulk Hogan and Bubba the Love Sponge’s wife Heather Clem went viral on the internet. In a statement on Monday October 29, Bubba ‘the Love Sponge” Clem apologized just as Hogan announced they had reached a confidential settlement in the lawsuit.
“After further investigation, I am now convinced that Hulk Hogan was unaware of the presence of the recording device in my bedroom. I am convinced he had no knowledge that he was being taped. Additionally, I am certain that he had no role in the release of the video.”
“It is my believe that he is not involved, and has not ever been involved, in trying to release the video or exploit it, or otherwise gain from the video’s release in any way” Clem wrote. The apology letter was also read on his radio show.
Hogan, the professional wrestler filed a lawsuit on October 15 regarding the release and creation of the sex tape. In the court documents, Hogan stated that the sexual encounter with Heather Clem occurred six years ago and was consensual.
Hogan accused Bubba of suggesting the sexual act gave Hogan his permission to have sex with his wife. Hogan also admitted that he was in fact married to Linda when the sex tape was made.
Hogan contends that at no time did he know there was a video camera in the bedroom. He also said that to him the filming and release of the tape was an “invasion of his privacy”.
Only a day after Hogan filed his lawsuit against Clem and his ex-wife Heather, Clem took to the airwaves to insist Hogan knew of the filming. “There were three people in that home. All three knew what time it was. You know I have surveillance.”
“You knew of everything going on. But now that your feelings are hurt, you’re trying to cover your ass with your wife and your jobs and your social standing.”
Even though the lawsuit with Bubba Clem has been settled, the case against his ex-wife Heather Clem is still pending. In addition, Hogan has filed suit against Gawker Media for $100 million.
Bubba went on to say in his statement that, “Regrettable, when Hulk filed the lawsuit against me, I instinctively went on the offensive. The things that I said about him and his children were not true. “I was wrong and I am deeply sorry for my reaction, and for the additional pain that it caused Hulk and his children on top of the pain that they already were feeling.”
Hulk Hogan, whose real name is Terry Bollea is being represented by David Houston. Houston stated on Monday that, “Mr. Bollea is pleased that Mr. Clem finally stated the truth and apologized for his false statements.”
