On October 20, 2012, Bruno Mars guest starred on NBC’s “Saturday Night Live” that airs in Tampa on channel 8. The show saw its highest ratings in the past seven months according to an October 21, 2012 report from By the Numbers. While Bruno Mars provided plenty of entertainment through musical skits and performances, “SNL” is enjoying higher ratings and attracting more viewers due to the presidential election. Saturday’s episode featured Jason Sudeikis as Mitt Romney, Jay Pharoah as Obama and Aida Bryant filling in as moderator Candy Crowley. “Saturday Night Live” has become well known for their political-themed skits and Saturday’s episode was rife with political parodies.
Other highlights featured on the “Saturday Night Live” episode include a parody of Brad Pitt’s Chanel ad and a surprise visit from Tom Hanks. You may watch the full “SNL” episode here.
According to TV by the Numbers, “SNL” scored a 5.4/14 in metered-market households. That rating was the highest since Lindsay Lohan guest starred in March with special musical guest Jack White. With several more weeks to go until the election, we can expect more high ratings from “Saturday Night Live.”
