In recent weeks, Bill Nye the “Science Guy” has been in the news, on television and on the internet, because of his famous/infamous YouTube video, Creationism Is Not Appropriate for Children.
His stance is very clear on the battle between creationism and evolution.
Although in his YouTube video, Bill Nye provides no evidence or scientific explanation for evolution, he nevertheless takes a moment to insist that those who don’t buy into evolution are simply “holding everybody back”.
Bill Nye asserts that if you don’t believe in evolution your worldview just “becomes crazy, untenable, and self-inconsistent.” He mocks those who believe in creationism and insists that the children of such adults should not be exposed to creationism. Why?
According to Bill Nye, this country needs “scientifically literate” children. In other words, if you are a person of Christian faith and believe in the biblical account of creation, you are utterly incapable of scientific literacy. To Bill Nye, Christian faith/doctrine and science literacy are incompatible.
Fortunately, there are many scientists and researchers around the world and in America who not only disagree with Bill Nye, but are willing and capable of gathering tons of information to the contrary.
In fact, it could be said that evolutionists today still do not appear to have a logical/reasonable (or “scientific”) explanation for the existence of the universe with all its vastness and complexity.
Simply put: ex nihilo nihil fit; out of nothing, nothing comes.
Those in favor of evolution, like Bill Nye, refuse to attribute the existence of the universe to the sovereignty of an almighty God, yet appear incapable of setting forth a reasonable explanation of their own. If at one point in time, nothingness existed, then, logically, today there would still be nothing. For, how can nothing create something?
