Full Circle: An Exploration of Tolkien’s Lord of the Rings

Learn everything you wanted to know about “The Lord of the Rings” trilogy before seeing “The Hobbit” which releases in theaters this December! The topic of this Tolkien discussion series is “Going Medieval: Costuming in The Lord of the Rings,” a talk by Sacramento City College Assistant Professor of Fashion and Interior Design, Lynne Giovannetti. Prof. Giovannetti will discuss historical Medieval fashion and how it has influenced Tolkien’s trilogy. She will also explain how the printed word is adapted to script format. A fashion show of hobbits, elves dwarves and people will occur after the talk. The discussion series will continue with similar talks every first and third Sunday of the month until December.
