While the “Twilight” actor may not be starring in E.L. James’ upcoming “Fifty Shades of Grey” film, Robert Pattinson recently revealed this Friday, October 26, that he is interested in writing his own “50 Shades”-esque novel in the near future.
Robert Pattinson is one star that much like vampire Edward Cullen, often has secrets hidden beneath his half-smile. And according to reports from “Gather Entertainment:” this week, the “Twilight” star is after “50 Shades of Grey”—even if he can’t sink his fangs into the “Fifty Shades of Grey” film.
While the talented inner goddess author EL James has made it clear that while the bestselling erotic novel trilogy of “50 Shades” was initially based off “Twilight,” the writer is not considering to have Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart star in key roles Christian Grey and Anastasia Steele. However, Pattinson is not after a starring part in the “Fifty Shades of Grey” film, but rather writing his own erotic novel for fans around the world.
Yes, Kristen Stewart’s once-more on-and-off screen lover wants to write his own erotic novel that may be based off of—or at least draw connections to—EL James “50 Shades of Grey” series, followed by “Fifty Shades Darker” and “Fifty Shades Freed.”
In a recent interview, Robert Pattinson was asked if he had any interest in eventually writing a book, and if so, what books he might want to author with his experience. The Edward Cullen actor quickly replied:
“Surely something along the lines of ‘Fifty Shades of Grey.’ I would really like to do that and put a spin on it by inverting the casting roles: making the woman the one who is punishing the man. It would be so much fun. Something like ‘Misery’ … but really he loves to be in that situation, you know?”
Whether the talented Robert Pattinson was merely using his usual wit during the interview or is really interesting in casting his hand at penning his own “50 Shades”-like novel, it is certainly an interesting idea to consider a submissive Christian Grey and dominant Anastasia Steele as a surprising change of roles.
Of course, Elena Lincoln has already filled many fans’ insight into what a dominatrix may be for EL James without changing the handsome Christian Grey into Ana’s own sub, so “Twilight,” Robert Pattinson, and “Fifty Shades of Grey” film fans alike may have to see what the Edward Cullen actor has in store in the future. Perhaps he may go from blockbuster actor to bestselling author himself.
