Director and producer of television shows. He was the voice of Beast in Disney’s Beauty and the Beast and the voice of Drake in Dragonheart: A New Beginning. “I was one of the fortunate ones because I grew up in theater. There’s a huge difference between growing up in theater and growing up on TV where you are paid thousands and thousands of dollars, paid to look cute and memorize lines and hit your mark,” said Benson.
“I’ve actually had people come up and say to me, I haven’t seen you in a while I thought you were dead.”
“My best acting was in the doctor’s office when I had to get an insurance checkup. When I was in the room alone putting on a gown, I would be doing pushups and sit ups so when the doctor came in they were like Whoa and they hardly ever listened to my heart.”
Why he didn’t share his secret
John Marley and Rod Stieger, both had heart conditions, both men would take me aside and have long conversations with me about this and about that and eventually it would get personal and about their heart problems. But they could never say a word about it. You know Robby its career suicide in Hollywood and you better not tell anyone.”
