Wow. The season 2 premiere of “Revenge” aired tonight (Sept. 30) and really took us on a revenge-a-coaster ride that we won’t soon forget!
That is, there are so many twists and turns and ups and downs that we may be a little dizzy – but thrilled nonetheless and definitely panting for more.
So, mystery solved. The big event is Jack’s (Nick Wechsler) boat is capsized and alas, another body is discovered. This time underwater instead of on the beach…
Is the body Jack’s? Did he go down with the ship and what caused the shipwreck?
Plus, in the rewind, Emily (Emily VanCamp) discovers Victoria’s (Madeleine Stowe) alive and she’s in cahoots with the white-haired man!
Uh oh! This spells BIG TROUBLE for Ems – as they now consider her a liability. It appears Victoria orders “Whitey” to take care of her.
Is Emily doomed? Will she be able to thwart off their offensive and protect herself and Charlotte? (Christa B. Allen)
Overall, this episode packs so many punches (like a really hot Nolan boxing!) we are still reeling a bit.
Let’s break the action into 2 categories: Love It and Loathe It
Aiden (Barry Sloane) saves Emily’s life. Whew! She’s okay – but who is this hunky guy and how well do they know each other?
Nemily is back and even having a slumber party of sorts. Nolan is selling his house and staying with Emily in the interim. Good! She needs protection. She needs back up to whip some white-haired booty! (Plus, they just make adorable roomies!)
Emily VanCamp and Gabriel Mann click in every sense of the word and it’s so fun to see them play off of each other…
And, Nolan’s new haircut and sleek physique is ultra-fine! Plus, the QuipMaster rules again!
“All that’s missing are the flesh eating zombies!” and “clam cam” are priceless!
Speaking of hot bodies – Josh Bowman and Nick Wechsler are a sight for sore eyes…
It’s clear Daniel and Jack both still have feelings for Emily. That means there’s still a chance things could work out with one of them somewhere down the road.
Charlotte survived, knows her mother did too and it appears she and Emily may be getting closer…
Victoria actually trumped Conrad by teaming up with Whitey to “escape” the explosion. Awesome! He deserves it!
Stowe and Czerny are impeccable at playing villains. They are brilliant at making Victoria and Conrad so greedy and evil and twisted…
Plus, it’s just plain fun to watch them out-scheme each other!
The flashbacks with Emily’s mom (Jennifer Jason Leigh) are done really well. It’ll be really exciting to find out what happens when mother and daughter meet.
Conrad (Henry Czerny) is an absolute snake! The gall of keeping his daughter locked up to control her “inheritance.” Is it because she’s really David Clarke’s biological daughter? What kind of sick person is he? He’s the one who should be locked up! Wouldn’t it be fun if Charlotte could work it out and make that happen?
We hate that Charlotte is being held against her will and hope Victoria busts her out really soon!
Meanwhile, we want someone to open up a real can-of-crazy on the white-haired man! C’mon Nolan! Let’s see a Round 1 KO on this guy!
Sorry – can’t stand to see Daniel and Ashley (Ashley Madekwe) together! They just don’t make a proper fit. It would be better to see someone entirely new fall for Daniel than keep this pair together.
It’s also terrible Jack is trying to “do the right thing” with Amanda (Margarita Levieva) for the baby’s sake – a baby that might not even be his, after all!
In fact, add Amanda, period, to the loathe it list. She’s a schemer and she’s probably playing and preying on Jack. Who else wants to bet there is some sort of “doctored” paternity test in Jack’s near future?
Bottom line: We don’t want Jack to be trapped in her web of deceit. Please, declare: Jack Porter, you are NOT the father…
Takeda’s twisted training methods are too much. Emily nearly dies while tied to the post under water – but then Aiden saves her. Can Emily really trust Takeda or is he playing the ultimate sick game and working for the other side at large?
Just something to think about…
Overall, the “Revenge” season opener delivers the goods and then some. We’re sucked in, hook, line and sinking ship.
Emily VanCamp continues to sizzle in the part of little girl scorned and brings a steely determination and smooth sophistication to Emily Thorne that is exciting to watch.
The wheels of “Revenge” have turned really well. There’s so much room to delve into these characters from here and we can’t wait to go along for the ride.
“Revenge” airs Sundays at 9 PM EST on ABC.
