Earlier on Thursday, actress Reese Witherspoon gave birth to a baby boy, her first with husband Jim Toth.
According to Witherspoon’s representative, she named the baby Tennessee James.
“Reese Witherspoon and husband Jim Toth welcomed Tennessee James into their family today. Both mom and baby are healthy and the entire family is thrilled,” Witherspoon’s spokeswoman Meredith O’Sullivan Wasson said in a statement.
Witherspoon has two children, daughter Ava (12) and son Deacon (9), with her first husband, Ryan Phillippe. The couple divorced in 2007 after seven years of marriage. The two share custody of the children.
According to a source in the Us Weekly, Witherspoon helped Toth decide that he wanted children.
“Before Jim met Reese, he wasn’t sure about having kids. “Being around her kids has really shown him what it’s all about,” the source said.
“Settling down with Jim and raising a family is what [Reese] wanted,” added another source.
Toth, 41, and Witherspoon, 36, married in March 2011 at the actress’ ranch in Ojai, Calif., after a year of dating.
