Before WWE “Raw” on Monday, Oct. 8, 2012, there was a big shake-up to the creative writing team when Brian Gerwitz was sent home. There is no word on whether or not he is still with the company, but low ratings have Vince McMahon in a foul mood, and no-one’s job is safe when he isn’t happy.
UPDATE: Police report filed by fan attacked by CM Punk on WWE “Monday Night Raw”
Still, there was a show to put together and WWE “Monday Night Raw” must go on, so below are the results.
SEE: CM Punk punches fan near end of WWE “Raw” on 10/08/12
~ An injured John Cena starts off the show, and did some basic humor on a few people before asking AJ out on a date, and then ripping on CM Punk. That was just pointless.
~ Ryback vs. Primo & Epico: So, there is a tag team tournament going on to breathe life back into the division and now Ryback buries one of the few teams. This was also pointless.
~ Brodus Clay vs. R-Truth: There is no match as both men start dancing before Mr. McMahon comes on the tron and tells them to leave the ring so he can give his speech.
~ McMahon started going on about a few things before Punk and Paul Heyman came out to the ring. Great stuff from both Punk and McMahon before Punk actually slaps the boss across the face. Instead of firing Punk, McMahon makes a match between the WWE champion and himself for tonight.
~ Primetime Players vs. Rey Mysterio & Sin Cara: Very basic tag team match with both teams doing their thing before the masked men pick up the win.
~ Sheamus vs. Wade Barrett: This is actually the best match of the night so far, and not just because the other matches have been dull and boring. Both men fought it out hard before Tensai and Big Show came out to take down Sheamus.
~ Antonio Cesaro vs. Tyson Kidd: Not a bad little match as Kidd got in some fun offense, but Cesaro just overpowered him and won.
~ Team Hell No vs. Dolph Ziggler & Alberto del Rio: Surprisingly enough, this was another excellent match and well deserving of being on a pay-per-view like the upcoming “Hell in a Cell.” Everyone absolutely loves Team Hell No, and they just keep getting bigger. Just a really fun and good wrestling match.
~ Larry King was on “Raw” and interviewed The Miz, and this was really nothing until Kofi Kingston showed up to set up a new feud.
~ Zack Ryder & Santino Marella vs. Damien Sandow & Cody Rhodes: The heels win to make their way into the finals of the tag team tournament, and it didn’t take much. Afterward, the trio of Jinder Mahal, Heath Slater, and Drew McIntyre took out the good guys.
~ Eve vs. Kaitlyn: Boring match as Eve holds onto her Divas Championship.
~ CM Punk vs. Vince McMahon: Punk attacks the boss before the match officially starts. It’s a pretty good beat down from Punk, but McMahon gets a few licks in every now and then. McMahon even then decks Heyman, but eventually gets put on Punk’s shoulders for the GTS.
Ryback enters and Punk leaves, but John Cena is back and tosses Punk into the ring again. Ryback drills Punk with a clothesline, and McMahon gives Punk a choice. The WWE champion must decide by next week who he will face at “Hell in a Cell:” John Cena or Ryback.
