After listening to your interview with Cincinnati’s Bill Cunningham on WLW 700 and visiting your website, I wanted to find out more about you and your Muslim heritage. I am fascinated by your story. Please tell me something about yourself.
If you peruse my name on the Internet, you will find much controversy created by Doubting Thomases, skeptics and other antagonists who continuously denigrate and slander my character.
What is your background?
Years ago, a naïve American girl fell in love with a Muslim man. She married him and then visited the Middle East with him. He decided to stay in the Middle East. The naïve American girl couldn’t leave for 35 years because she could not convince her children to escape with her.
These are my parents.
So you can say that being between the East and West qualifies me in many ways. My mother could not convince her rebel son (me) to think any differently.
While raised amid radical teachings, I became a teenager aspiring for a Utopia without Israel. With our Islamic education, we received more dosages of Utopia. We called it Dar al-Islam (the house of Islam) and the rest of the earth’s sphere is called Dar al-Harb (House of War).
This is what produces radical terrorists.
It’s a collectivist effort in which the party line becomes either the modus operandi or it’s the coffin—if one changes his mind and is killed, he can still receive a proper burial. In today’s Syrian Revolution, dissidents are killed and thrown into sewage.
But the West had taken its toll on me. In 1978, I moved to the U.S. and lived here for nearly 17 years. The West had a contagious infection called critical thinking—a pandemic that has not left. Today the West has advanced much in the educated realm.
Infected westerners always tried to pass this virus onto me. Fortunately, I always received inoculation with doses from the Holy Quran.
When I got with my third wife Maria, I intended to heal her by introducing the Quran. Maria, infected by critical thinking asked me, “what is wrong with my Bible?”
I told her that all Muslims (fundamentalists or not) will say the Bible has been corrupted.
Maria then said “show me the corruptions and I will gladly convert to Islam.”
Excited that my wife wanted the medicine (the Quran), I bought a Bible and searched for its disease. What I discovered astonished me. After much struggling, I discovered that critical thinking was already in the Bible!
“Come let us reason together says the Lord…”
I also learned that my sons and I no longer have to support the cause of Jihad with our lives. This is because God already gave us his only son.
Knowing that I have committed a crime by converting to Christianity, I would rather be plagued with critical thinking and freedom.
I pray that I never recover.
