The first presidential debate between Barack Obama and Mitt Romney is scheduled for October 3, 2012. Libertarian Party presidential contender Gary Johnson isn’t invited, and he has filed an antitrust suit.
Behind all the excuses, justifications and spin used to explain why only the Republican and Democrat candidates are allowed to debate is a reality that America’s One Party doesn’t want voters to know.
It isn’t really a debate; it’s a “glorified press conference.”
A 26-minute video currently appearing on Alex Jones’ Infowars.com explains why presidential debates are deadly dull.
In essence, they are canned, controlled, carefully choreographed productions that have been agreed upon in advance by the Republican and Democrat wings of America’s One Party System.
The video recounts the history of the televised presidential debates from the first one between Nixon and Kennedy, which was produced by the TV networks, through the League of Women Voters nonpartisan productions which resulted in gaffes and embarrassments for some candidates, and then relates how it was turned into a private corporation, the Presidential Debate Commission, run by former chairmen of the Democrat and Republican parties, which almost always excludes third parties while carefully staging mock debates that look and feel as scripted as “The Bachelorette.”
When the One Party-created PDC took over the debates the League of Women Voters dropped out, stating “The League has no intention of becoming an accessory to the hoodwinking of the American public.”
The Gary Johnson campaign filed an antitrust suit seeking a restraining order against the debates to keep them from occurring until all “constitutionally eligible” candidates are allowed to speak.
Ron Nielson, a spokesperson for Gov. Johnson, said “Someone has to stand up and call this what it is – a rigged system designed entirely to protect and perpetuate the two-party duopoly.”
In reality, it’s virtually guaranteed that the power brokers behind the Republican and Democrat wings of the One Party will not allow an unscripted Libertarian into the debates, successful lawsuit or not. Johnson will embarrass both of their hand-picked stooges and they know it.
At worst for the Libertarians, the lawsuit will simply be thrown out on orders from the ruling class and the bogus debate will continue. At worst, the two power players will just cancel the debates.
The time may be long past for free people to regain control of their country. Still, that doesn’t mean they should ever stop trying.
