Get to the “Open Studios” event Saturday to avoid the weather.
It is a beautiful morning in Arlington Virginia today, though the skies bear evidence of arriving conditions. Take a good look at the fall colors because after the wind and rain, those leaves are coming down.
The people who are vulnerable to flooding know who they are and what to do. Those driving during flooding conditions may enter areas with which they are unfamiliar and may encounter flooding.
Don’t drive through large puddles in flooded streets. Stop and turn around when you encounter flooding a apparent strong currents. Remember the pictures of stranded motorists in trucks and SUVs like yours. Even large vehicles may be overcome by ravaging water.
There is an Open Studios event in the Arlington area Saturday and Sunday. Weather should not interfere with that on Saturday and early Sunday. By Sunday evening, expect lots of rain, this according to the National Weather Service. (Why do they issue these warnings in all-caps?)
