A reward is being offered for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person(s) responsible for dragging a pit bull behind a car and leaving him for dead.
According to the rescue organization, Sammie’s Friends, on September 25, an injured gray and white pit bull, now known as “Karma,” was discovered along Bear River Bridge, in Grass Valley, Calif.
The organization describes his injuries:
All four paw pads were completely gone, along with each of his toenails. Not to mention he has lacerations to his head and legs. He was in so much pain and the injury was so bad, he had to be put under anesthesia just to be looked at. Tar and rocks had to be dug out of his paws.
Despite the painful injuries which left Karma’s body battered, he has maintained a sweet, forgiving demeanor.
Right now, Karma is recovering from his wounds and the rescue organization is attempting to find out who committed this heartless act of cruelty.
Anyone with information on this horrific incident, is urged to contact Animal Control at (530) 273-2179 or Sammie’s Friends Animal Shelter at (530) 471-5041.
