‘Once Upon A Time’ has released four sneak peek clips from this Sunday’s episode, “Lady of the Lake.” To refresh your memory, here is ABC’s official description of the third episode:
Emma and Mary Margaret, with the aid of Mulan, Aurora and brave knight Lancelot, attempt to find a portal that will bring them back to Storybrooke. But a dark force threatens their safe return. And Henry tries to talk Jefferson into reuniting with his daughter. Meanwhile, back in the fairytale land that was, on the eve of meeting Prince Charming’s mother, King George poisons Snow White, and the only antidote lies within the waters of the Lady of the Lake, on “Once Upon a Time,” SUNDAY, OCTOBER 14 (8:00-9:00 p.m., ET) on the ABC Television Network.
Unfortunately, none of the sneak peeks include scenes featuring Lancelot or King George, but we do get a look at how Snow White and Emma are getting along in post-curse Fairytale Land. On the other hand, the slideshow above gives us a glimpse of Lancelot in Fairytale Land and King George in Storybrooke.
In the first scene (on the left), Cora introduces herself to Emma in the pit and reveals that she is Regina’s mother. Cora claims to be very different from Regina, but Snow wakes up she immediately warns Emma that she cannot be trusted.
The second clip shows some more princess-on-princess violence. Snow White tackles Aurora to the ground and Emma brings a gun to a sword fight. Snow’s reaction to Emma’s gun-toting is so cute. Their developing mother-daughter dynamic is going to be fun to watch this season.
In the third video, Mulan presents Snow and Emma with a chest of weapons, so they can arm themselves for battle against ogres. Snow chooses her signature bow and arrows, while Emma simply wants to get her gun back from Mulan. Emma then jokes about the mythical creatures, but Mulan makes it clear that the ogres should be seriously feared.
The final scene reveals a protective Snow White, urging Emma to stay behind while she and Mulan fend off the ogres. Emma may know how to defend herself in the real world, but Fairytale Land is a completely new place where the rules she is accustomed to don’t always apply. It will be interesting to see how Emma adapts to her parents’ world. Fun-fact about ogres: they are blind and use sonic feedback to see. Let’s hope that looks cool, instead of coming off as phony CGI.
Several photos show us some adorable grandfather-grandson bonding between Charming and Henry. We also see Henry doing what he does best, as he tries convincing Jefferson to follow his heart and reach out to his daughter. Meanwhile, we discover that the malicious King George is in Storybrooke. It is probably safe to assume he still holds a grudge against Charming. It will be nice to see how their fairytale history and their present situation unfold throughout the episode. Over in post-curse Fairytale Land, we see Lancelot lending a hand to Mulan & Co. Can’t wait to see how the Arthurian legend plays into all of this.
