Tick-tock, tick-tock…time is growing closer to meeting ‘Once Upon A Time’s’ newest fan-favorite: Captain Hook! Fans have been eagerly anticipating his arrival and we can’t wait to see the twists ‘Once’ will take on his epic tale.
Earlier this week we carefully viewed episode stills and behind-the-scenes photos revealing Belle’s abduction in Storybrooke and a golden Rumple’s encounter with Captain Hook in Fairytale Land. Thanks to TVGuide.com, we now have more images that can help us gather new information.
First, to refresh your memory, here is ABC’s official description for “The Crocodile”:
Belle’s disgust over Mr. Gold’s continuing thirst for power comes to a head, and she threatens to leave him if he can’t change his evil ways; the dwarves pick up their axes and try to find fairy dust in the Storybrooke mine; and a reunion with an old acquaintance could prove to be Belle’s undoing. Meanwhile, back in the fairytale land that was, Rumplestiltskin attempts to save his wife, Milah, from being kidnapped by a band of cutthroat pirates, on “Once Upon a Time,” SUNDAY, OCTOBER 21 (8:00-9:00 p.m., ET) on the ABC Television Network.
“Once Upon a Time” stars Ginnifer Goodwin as Snow White/Mary Margaret, Jennifer Morrison as Emma Swan, Lana Parrilla as Evil Queen/Regina, Josh Dallas as Prince Charming/David, Emilie de Ravin as Belle, Jared S. Gilmore as Henry Mills, Meghan Ory as Red Riding Hood/Ruby, and Robert Carlyle as Rumplestiltskin/Mr. Gold.
Guest starring are Lee Arenberg as Leroy/Grumpy, Barbara Hershey as Cora, Colin O’Donoghue as Killian Jones, David-Paul Grove as Doc, Faustino Di Bauda as Sleepy, Jeffrey Kaiser as Dopey, Michael Coleman as Happy, Mig Macario as Bashful, Sebastian Wilkinson as young Baelfire, Rachel Shelley as Milah, Rondel Reynoldson as village woman, Eric Keenleyside as Moe/Sir Maurice, Christopher Gauthier as William, Chelsea Turner as tavern waitress and Ryan Hesp as quartermaster.
“The Crocodile” was written by David H. Goodman & Robert Hull and directed by David Solomon.
The previous behind-the-scenes images showed Captain Hook (Colin O’Donoghue) speaking with Rumple after he had become the “Dark One.” The images in the slideshow (above) reveal Rumpy as he was before accepting the curse of the “Dark One.” Last season we learned that Rumple’s wife, Milah, left him and Baelfire because she was ashamed of her husband’s cowardly actions during the Ogre War. After examining these photos, it is not a stretch to think that maybe Milah sought comfort in the arms of courageous Captain Hook. For starters, she seems to be enjoying herself while sharing a beer with Hook in the tavern. Seriously, does Milah look like a woman who has been or is about to be kidnapped? If this is how Rumpy lost his wife, then it is a little easier to understand why he decided to accept the role of the “Dark One.”
Do you think Milah ran away with Captain Hook and his crew? Could gold-dusted Rumple be after Hook for not just kidnapping his wife, but stealing her heart? Does Rumpy deal out some old-fashioned justice: a hand for a wife? Will both men still have a score to settle when Hook surfaces in Storybrooke? We are very excited to see how this all plays out.
Over in Storybrooke, we already saw how Belle will mostly likely be abducted by Smee (Chris Gauthier) and we know that Charming, Red and Rumpy work together to track her down. Now we get to catch a glimpse of what the Seven Dwarves are up to as they work away in the mines. Henry and Red show their support by bringing them some tasty treats. Sheriff Charming even picks up an axe and starts mining for some fairy dust himself. It also looks like Belle grabs some breakfast and chats with Red at the diner before Smee steals her away.
Will the dwarves find what they are looking for? Will fairy dust be able to help them use magic in Storybrooke? Will they get Belle back by the end of the episode or will her abduction end with another ‘Once’ cliffhanger? Could Belle have given Red any clues as to where she was headed? Will we find out about Smee’s past with Belle and Hook?
The more we learn about “The Crocodile,” the better this episode looks!
Be sure to catch Captain Hook’s captivating entrance next Sunday, October 21st at 8 p.m. on ABC.
