Just when you thought the seventh annual Denver Zombie Crawl couldn’t get any better, zombiephiles can kick off the day once again with the Organ Trail, and urban race through the Mile High City with zombies.
On the morning of Saturday, October 20 at 11 a.m., Organ Trail racers will meet at Skyline Park on the 16th Street Mall in full zombie costume and makeup for the first wave of the day’s zombie urban race. The second wave will begin at 1 p.m., just before the start of the 2012 Denver Zombie Crawl.
The Organ Trail is an urban adventure race where teams of zombies solve clues, run around town, do challenges, and compete for cash. Organ Trail organizer Ryan Ruddell describes the race as “part Amazing Race, part Fear Factor, and part Haunted House.” Zombiephiles will get to challenge their knowledge of both Denver and zombie lore as their team races to solve all the puzzles and complete all the challenges first.

This year the Organ Trail is partnering with Bonfils Blood Center to increase blood donations for area hospitals. If there’s one thing zombies are good at, it’s shedding blood. Lame pun aside, all Organ Trail participants and supporters are encouraged to give blood that could potentially save a life.
The Organ Trail also serves as the opening games of the 2012 Denver Zombie Crawl. Before the Crawl on the morning of Saturday, October 20, teams of Organ Trailers in full zombie regalia will compete for the cash prizes and practice rampaging through the city before they join thousands of their zombie brethren at the Crawl at 2 p.m.
You can register for the Organ Trail and find out more at their website.
