Recently featured in the Boston Globe, Boston folk-rock band ‘Session Americana’ will perform live at the Brattle Theatre, 40 Brattle Street in Cambridge, Massachusetts to celebrate their new CD ‘Love and Dirt.’ ‘Session Americana’ was established in 2004 and their unique, fascinating sound comes from six acclaimed multi-instrumentalists who have also individually made their mark in music. Their easy going style is also full of improvisation and unpredictability, qualities compelling to watch each time they perform.
Sean Staples, an acclaimed mandolin player, guitarist, vocalist, mandocelloist, and fiddler, performs with ‘Session Americana.’ He also lends his talent to the Boston Music Award-winning ‘Resophonics,’ ‘Jabe,’ ‘The Benders’ among others.
Billy Beard performs on drums and vocals with ‘Session Americana.’ A founding member of the 80s band ‘Face to Face,’ he has performed with incredible talent such as American folk singer-songwriter Lori McKenna, Grammy award-winning singer-songwriter and instrumentalist Patty Griffin, and country music singer-songwriter Kim Richie. Billy Beard’s career has excelled for over 30 years!
Originally founding the award winning indie-rock group ‘Chauncey,’ Jon Bistline performs bass and vocals with ‘Session Americana.’ However, he also plays keyboards, cello and has an extensive music background performing live with singer-songwriter Edie Carey, singer-songwriter Melissa Ferrick to name a few.
A founding member of the cult-residency band ‘Vinal Avenue,’ and ‘Maybe Baby,’ Folk and rock musician Ry Cavanaugh plays guitar, mandocello, and sings vocals for ‘Session Americana.’
Having founded a number of local bands as well as Fort Apache recording studios, Jim Fitting has performed with the alternative rock groups The Mighty Mighty Bosstones, Morphine, Martha Davis who lead singer of the Motels, and a slew of others. He plays the harmonica and sings vocals for ‘Session Americana.’
Lead singer of the rock and roll band, ‘The Funky White Honkies,’ Dinty Child redefines multi-instrumentalist with his abilities with ‘Session Americana.’ He sings vocals, plays guitar, fiddle, banjo, accordion, and keyboards.
