You must know by now that the much awaited Life is Good Festival is this weekend! The website has all of the the details to help you with logistics and a great line up both today, Saturday, and Sunday. Not only is the entertainment top notch, but they’ve got over a huge team of volunteers that help this extravaganza move smoothly along and the folks at Life is Good want to be sure that everyone is well-fed.
In addition to feeding volunteers, festival goers will be able to purchase some fabulous egg sandwiches created by a culinary combination of great local purveyors and the culinary creativity of some “VGC’s” Very Good Chefs!
All of the egg sandwiches will be $5 and the proceeds go to the Playmakers charitable organization.
Chef Tod Winer of the Met Restaurant Group created the “Route 9 Delight” with grilled Barowsky’s Oat Nut bread, Pete & Gerry’s Heirloom Blue Ameraucana Egg sunny side up, arugula, a Backyard Farms tomato salad, Cabot horseradish cheddar spread and a grilled Vermont Smoke and Cure sausage.
Chef Peter Davis of Henrietta’s Table used the Barowsky’s sprouted wheat English muffin for his creation. “Henrietta’s Hasher” is made with Pete & Gerry’s Heirloom Blue Ameraucana Egg over easy, a Backyard Farms tomatoes sliced, Cabot cheddar and Chef Davis’ signature red flannel hash.
Chef Patrick Campbell of No. 9 Park went sweet and savory all in one. With Barowsky’s Oat Nut bread dipped and grilled like French toast, Pete & Gerry’s Heirloom Blue Ameraucana Egg over easy, Cabot cheddar, a custard dip and grilled Vermont Smoke and Cure ham.
Chef Todd Heberlein of Volante Farms created his sandwich, “The Barnraiser”, with grilled Barowsky’s 12 grain bread, Pete & Gerry’s Heirloom Blue Ameraucana Egg over easy, arugula, grilled peppers, arugula, Cabot cheddar and an eggplant spread.
Chef Richard Rayment of the Seaport Hotel created an egg-free breakfast sandwich, “The Grilled Cheese & Tomato Trumpet Royal”. The sandwich is made with grilled Barowsky’s 12 grain bread, a Backyard Farms tomato jam, Cabot smoky bacon cheddar and sautéed trumpet royal mushrooms.
