On Friday, Georgia’s former Secretary of State, Karen Handel revealed that Planned Parenthood has launched a $3.5 million TV campaign with anti-Romney ads running this week in Virginia and next week in Ohio in order to help reelect President Obama, who holds the most extreme pro-abortion views in American history.
While a State Senator in Illinois, Obama opposed the Born Alive Infants Protection Act, four times, that was first introduced in 2000 to provide legal protection to all born babies, wanted or not, including the right to medical care, in American history.
Almost 40% of pregnancies among black women end in terminations, according to government figures.
Handel also stated that Virginians were treated to a glossy mailer slamming Romney. She said, “These activities supplement $1.4 million in ads that ran in key swing markets this past June and, according to one senior executive, is just a “down payment” on what’s to come.”
Recently, Handel, who also served as the former vice president of public policy at Susan G. Komen for the Cure, released her book, “Planned Bullyhood”, stated that in 2011, the Susan G. Komen for the Cure foundation was growing weary of the “pink” being tarnished by its health grants to Planned Parenthood (PPH), whose many controversies were fueling backlash against Komen.
“They wanted to remove themselves from the pro-life/abortion debate and made what they thought was a rational, reasonable decision: seek neutral ground in the culture war by severing ties with Planned Parenthood—and in turn, eliminate a major headache while opening a new, robust fund-raising channel,” Handel said.
However, the issue of Planned Parenthood doing mammograms came up when Handel stated in her book that Planned Parenthood paraded itself as providing mammograms to poor women, which in fact, was not true.
Critics blasted her when Handel stated in her book, “The truth is, Planned Parenthood does not provide mammograms. Planned Parenthood refers women to mammography providers, serving as the middle-woman, if you will.”
However, Politifact Georgia, a project of the Tampa Bay Times and its partners to help you find the truth in politics, reviewed her statement through research and declared that what Handel said was indeed true.
Handel said that Cecile Richards, head of Planned Parenthood has made her goals clear.
“She wants Planned Parenthood to be the “largest kick-butt political organization” in the country – and, of course, she wants Obama re-elected so that her coffers continue to be filled with our tax dollars.”
