Iron Boy Promotions released the scheduled bouts (suject to change) for it’s upcoming Oct. 6 show. The venue will be the Celebrity Theater in Phoenix.
Dedicated to excellence, Iron Boy President, Roberto Vargas has been busy preparing his stable of fighters. Thomas Valdez and Francisco De Vaca are in California training with former world champion, Shane Mosley. Vargas said Mosley was so impressed with De Vaca, he invited him to fight on a card in California.
The main event will showcase up and coming light welterweight, Victor Castro (6-0, 4 KOs) of Phoenix going to battle with Ephraim Martinez (4-2, 1 KO) of Los Angeles. The co-main event features the tough and hard hitting super featherweight, Chris Lopez of Phoenix (4-0, 2 KOs) taking on a determained, Diamond Baier (2-2-1) also of Phoenix.
The undercard is a solid line-up of entertaining bouts. Super Bantamweight and valley favorite, Emilio “Milo Time” Garcia (6-0, 1 KO) puts his unbeaten record on the line when he faces Jensen Ramirez (2-1-1) of Tucson. Garcia has not disappointed in all of his fights, the young prospect has a huge following who chant his name from start to finish. This bout has been creating a buzz the last few days in what many boxing fans are calling the “sleeper” fight of the evening.
Light welterweight prospect, Thomas Valdez (3-0, 2 KOs) of Phoenix will exchange blows with Jesus Aguinaga of Phoenix. Aguinaga will be making his debut as a pro and is anxious to get his first fight under his belt. For Valdez, another win could put him on the next level. His dedication and hard work is getting notice.
Fighting at a catch-weight of 123 lbs., Carlos Castro (1-0) of Phoenix will square up with Angel Gonzalez (0-2) of Phoenix. The crafty Castro is one fighter that should be added to your boxing radar. His last fight against Tony Green in June was a crowd pleaser, loaded with toe-to-toe action.
Lanell Bellows (2-0) of Phoenix will be facing an opponent yet to be named. The super middleweight is another young fighter who shows promise, he has won both of his bouts by way of knockout.
As an added bonus, Iron Boy Promotions has lined up a few amateur bouts. Fransciso De Vaca of Phoenix (122 lbs.) will battle an opponent yet to be determined. The crafty Edgar Brito (122 lbs.) of Phoenix will face Andrew Duran, also of Phoenix. From Las Vegas, Anthony Sims (175 lbs.) will showcase his skills against an opponent yet to be determined.
In attendance as special guest will be former world champion, Michael Carbajal of Phoenix. Carbajal has had a rough go the last few years, but like a true champion he has bounced back. He mentors and trains young fighters daily and works the corner for them. Former champion Roger Mayweather will also be in attendance, he is the uncle and trainer of Floyd Mayweather, Jr. Another valley favorite, Jesus “El Martillo” Gonzales will also be in attendance.
