The Horus Heresy is an event that forms one of the strongest pillars of Warhammer 40,000 — it’s impossible to explain the story of 40k without relating the events of the year 30,000. Fans have been able to read about the heresy through an ongoing series of novels by the Black Library which began with Horus Rising in 2006. Now, after a series of Forge World releases set during the Horus Heresy, fans are receiving an official set of rules for playing games set in the twilight years of the old Imperium.
The new line will be displayed at UK Games Day 2012. Not only are fans receiving a rulebook, but Forge World is even crafting the primarchs. The first one to be released is Angron, the leader of the World Eaters. Although there are plenty of fan produced miniatures of the primarchs, few are quite so well sculpted and posed so dynamically.
To top it all off, the release also includes a new super heavy tank, pre-heresy vehicle accessories, and jet bikes. Fans will soon be able to play out the entirety of the Horus Heresy, and reenact almost any scenario they’ve read in the books. Furthermore, the converting possibilities for Warhammer 40k are extensive, and should pique the imagination of any Warhammer fan.
