The Green Dog Art Gallery held their annual Kids Art Camp on Saturday at the gallery. About 14 children ranging in ages from 6 to 12 participated in the two hour event. The children got to try their skills at box painting, paper Mache, spin art, pen art, and painting with credit cards. An artist was available for face painting for all the participants. Art produced by the children will be on display at the gallery on Saturday Oct. 6 from 6-7 p.m.
The Crossroads Art District will be holding their First Friday Art Walk on Oct. 5. Visit numerous art galleries and entertainment venues in the area. Most businesses will remain open until 9 p.m. on Friday.
The Longview Art and World Music Festival will be held Friday thru Sunday at the new Longview Commercial District. Join artist, craftsmen and musicians as they display their works. Hayrides will begin on Saturday at noon and will give a tour of the historic Longview Farm. Live entertainment will be provided on three stages. Some of the performers are AKA Band, Megan Gustafson, Silverwood, the Hot Springs and Jah Lion among others.
The Line Creek Community Center at 5940 N.W. Waukomis will be holding the Line Creek Indian Art Festival on Saturday and Sunday. The center will feature Native American crafts, dancers and food.
“In the Mix” by Natosha Keefer will be the featured exhibit at the Blue Djinn Gallery. The exhibit will run through Oct. 27 at 1400 Union. The opening reception will be held on Friday Oct. 5.
Corridor Art Space at 4041 Mill in the Westport Entertainment district will be featuring, “Art, Architecture and Aperiodicity” through Jan. 13.
The “Liberty!” group exhibition will be on display at the Dolphin Gallery through Nov. 3. The presentation includes pieces by Anthony Baab, Kelly John Clark, David Ford, Justin Gainan and Archie Scott Gobber among others.
Sandy Cahill, hand-woven sculptural art and wearable art and Bobbi Toyne, oil paintings will be the featured artists at Images Art Gallery. They will be presented through Oct. 13 at the gallery, 7320 W. 80th in Overland Park.
The Kansas City Club will be holding the inaugural juried art show featuring the Missouri Valley Impressionist Society. The art show will run through Nov. 2 at 918 Baltimore.
Vala Gallery located at 5834 Johnson Drive in Mission will be featuring “Contemporary Tribal” by Helen Benson and “Many Paths” by Heather Roman. The exhibit will run through Oct. 6.
Campanella Gallery at 8700 N.W. River Park in Parkville will be featuring the fiber art-work of Eugenia Ortiz through Oct. 31. The gallery is located inside the Park University, McAfee Memorial Library.
“Artboards” Billboard-scale images by Gavin snider and Sabina Staires will be featured through Oct. 31 at The Missouri Bank Crossroads located at 125 Southwest Boulevard.
