This past Saturday a bevy of leading women from the greater DC metro area, undeterred by the eminent doom of “Frankenstorm”, arrived at the invitation-only opening celebration of Emporio Armani at Tysons Galleria in NOVA organized by NeuProfile’s Jessica Hoy and Finepoint Digital PR’s Meredith Fineman. The afternoon, presented by Marie Claire, benefited the Water.org organization co-founded by Gary White and none other than A-list actor Matt Damon. Water.org is a nonprofit organization that has transformed hundreds of communities in Africa, South Asia, and Central America by providing access to safe water and sanitation.
A host committee including former presidential candidate Jon Hunstman’s lovely daughters, Mary Anne, Abby and Liddy Huntsman, lobbyist and Fashion Delegate style blog founder Jennifer Fisher, daughter of Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. – Kick Kennedy – and Director of Strategic Initiatives for Water.org Chevenee Reavis, dressed in head to toe Emporio Armani to welcome attendees who enjoyed champagne, ginger and lavender bubbly and gourmet passed hors d’oeuvres.
The women, who represented a strong demographic of emerging female leaders in Washington, DC and beyond, started their morning with luxurious hair and make-up treatments at Toka Salon in Georgetown by founder Nuri Yurt himself. The day truly captured the spirit of the Marie Claire and Emporio Armani woman — youthful, strong and embracing the power of femininity while leading a new generation of female professionals in the spirit of “if you build it….”.
The event included an in-store Fall 2012 runway presentation with seasonal trend commentary by Marie Claire Senior Fashion Director Zanna Roberts Rassi – a front row fixture at A-list fashion shows worldwide. Popular items purchased at the event included statement necklaces of intricate embroidery and crystals, patent leather shoes with hot pink pop-of-color, brushed premium denim and soft as butter lambskin leather jackets and dresses in deep purple (worn by Abby Hunstman) and putty colors among many other items.
Additional bold and beautiful VIPs in attendance included VP of Public Relations for Emporio Armani Bojan Kostic, Emporio Armani Manager of Trade Marketing-retail Evie McGee, Marie Claire Director of Integrated Markting Erin Loop, Washington Post’s Roxanne Roberts and DC Scout columnist Dominique Vu, technology and engineering entrepreneur Melaine Privitera, Fashion Fights Poverty co-founder Sylvie Luanghy, CapFABB co-founder Liz Fassbender, Judy Kurtz of The Hill, Yeas and Nays columnist Nikki Schwab, jewelry designer and catwalk styling mave Anchyi Wei, America’s Next Top Model contestant Bianca Chardei, designer Deidre Jeffries and many more.
Later that evening the Huntsman sisters wore their Emporio Armani ensembles and Toka Salon hair and makeup makeovers for an exclusive interview segment with Alicia Quarles for E! News regarding the upcoming election and taped in Washington, DC to air Monday, October 29, 2012.
