Celebrities on the East Coast are getting ready to face monstrous Hurricane “Frankenstorm” Sandy on Monday.
The super-large storm that has been bearing down on the east coast of the United States for days, is targeting the New Jersey/New York area, as well as all the surrounding states. Many celebrities who call New York City their home are bracing for the historic hurricane and have been tweeting non-stop about it.
Lindsay Lohan regrets fight with Dina Lohan: ‘My mom is not on cocaine’
While only a category 1, Hurricane Sandy is so large that it’s impact is being felt at around an 800-plus mile radius. The winds it brings are affecting the whole eastern coast, creating huge off-shore waves, some reaching up to 50 feet in height.
Famous people in the Big Apple are certainly concerned about Sandy, but many are also taking it in stride and even making light of the situation. As a Jersey Shore resident, Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi will feel the full impact of the storm, but she’s taking the opportunity to make another party of the situation.
“Waiting for this storm!!!” Snooki tweeted, “Slumber party with my boys!!!!”
Bette Midler is using her storm downtime to catch up on some baking. “Batton down the hatches!! I’m baking macaroons for the duration. Hope it’s over before Hulaween!!!! Eeeeeeekkkk!!”
Meanwhile, a non-panicked Lindsay Lohan tweeted this odd message, “WHY is everyone in SUCH a panic about hurricane (i.m calling it Sally)..? Stop projecting negativity! Think positive and pray for peace.”
Andy Cohen will be busy during the storm watching television on his tablet, declaring that, “In preparation for #Sandy I am downloading 10 more episodes of #FridayNightLights.”
Arnold Schwarzenegger and Maria Shriver go furniture shopping together
Ironically, celebrities who are not in New York are taking the storm more seriously and seem to be even more concerned for their eastern counterparts than they are themselves.
Khloe Kardashian tweeted, “Praying for everyone on the East,” while Tim McGraw wrote, “Our family sends our prayers to those in Sandy’s path & deepest concern & admiration for our public servants who put themselves in harms way.”
“Dancing With the Stars” pro-dancer Chelsie Hightower sent a heartfelt tweet saying, “Prayers out to the east coast, hope you are doing ok!” and Maria Shriver wrote, “To those in the eye of the storm: we’re thinking of you and sending strength & faith that you will be okay…”
The effects are already being felt all over the the area where Sandy is headed, just minutes ago the Weather Channel’s Hurricane Central reported that a huge crane has partially collapsed at a luxury high-rise that’s under construction in Manhattan. The crane is apparently dangling over the street below.
