Tonight’s episode of Dancing with the Stars opened with the encore dance. Before Len announced their choice, he said he thought last night was the best show they have ever had. The judges then selected Shawn and Derek’s amazing Quickstep as the dance they wanted to see a second time, which was just as eye-popping and fantastic as the first time.
With a double elimination looming, they got right to the results. Tom and Brooke made their way up the stairs to visit each couple personally before handing out the results. Melissa and Tony, Gilles and Peta, and Emmitt and Cheryl were all safe, while Kirstie and Maks were in jeopardy.
Frankie Moreno performed while Lacey Schwimmer and Kyle Massey danced, joined by members of this season’s Troupe.
Next, it was time for more results. Tom told Shawn and Derek and Apolo and Karina they were safe, while Brooke told Drew and Anna they were in jeopardy. Tom told Kelly and Val they were also safe.
The first elimination of the night came down to either Drew and Anna or Kirstie and Maks. It turned out that the season two champion, Drew, and his new partner, Anna, was the couple to go. Drew said he wouldn’t change a thing and came back because it was fun. He added that he had an amazing partner and a great time before the two took their final dance, center stage.
Tom revealed the dance options for next week and explained that the couple with the lowest cumulative point total this season would choose the dance for the couple with the highest scores, and so on. Bristol and Mark chose Bollywood for Gilles and Peta. Kirstie and Maks chose Disco for Sabrina and Louis. Helio and Chelsie chose Mambo for Shawn and Derek. Kelly and Val chose Bolero for Emmitt and Cheryl. Melissa and Tony chose Hip Hop for Apolo and Karina. Apolo and Karina chose Jitterbug for Melissa and Tony. Emmitt and Cheryl chose Contemporary for Kelly and Val. Shawn and Derek chose Broadway for Helio and Chelsie. Sabrina and Louis chose the Charleston for Kirstie and Maks, which left Rock and Roll for Bristol and Mark.
Next was the first AT&T Spotlight Performance of the season.
Karmin performed a medley of “Hello” and “Broken Hearted.” Chelsie and members of the Troupe danced as they sang.
Tom and Brooke revealed that Bristol and Mark, yet again, were safe, leaving Helio and Chelsie and Sabrina and Louis as the final two couples in jeopardy. Helio and Chelsie were then announced as the second couple eliminated for the night. Chelsie said Helio was an amazing partner and lots of fun to be around because he truly enjoyed it.
