Jeremy Doss has had a rapid ascent in his racing career winning from nearly the first time he sat in his first Outlaw Cage Kart when he was just seven years old. Fast forward a short eight years and the fifteen year old is poised to win his first touring Late Model championship after racking up impressive wins during the last year.
This weekend the youngster heads to Ukiah California for a special Open Comp event that is also a points race for the Airport Auto Brokers Late Model Series where he is the current point leader. The AABLMS has competed at Ukiah for several years but the race this weekend will be the first visit for the series this season. The trip will also be Doss’ first visit to the quarter-mile paved oval as a driver in a full-bodied stock car.
In his short stock car career, Doss has scored victories in local Late Model action, the CarbonX Rocky Mountain Challenges Series, and in the AABLM Series firmly establishing his credentials as one of the top up and coming race car drivers from the west coast. This season, Doss has scored twelve wins racing in Late Models, the AABLM Series, Legend Cars, and the CarbonX Rocky Mountain Challenge Series.
This past weekend, Doss came up a bit short finish tenth in a Late Model race at All American Speedway in Roseville, CA and is looking to put himself back in the winner’s circle. “We got behind early at All American and we just couldn’t make up enough ground trying to get through the slower cars,” Doss offered.
Doss holds a sizeable lead in the standings with just two races left to go in the AABLMS, but knows that he needs to maintain his focus if he is to come out on top this season. “You never know,” Doss said. “We have been really good this year and the cars that Dale (Dodds) and my dad (Mike Doss) have prepared have been awesome. I am excited for the Ukiah race and hope to be there at the end.”
While the younger Doss does not have the experience at Ukiah, his father Mike has plenty. The elder Doss won twice at Ukiah last season and is a multi-time winner and champion in the AABLMS.
Doss has a few more planned races on his 2012 schedule with the possibility of a few special events later in the year. Plans call for him to move up to the SPEARS SRL Southwest Tour next season along with competing in select RMCS, AABLMS, and various special events that will feature more than thirty races throughout 2013. Marketing partnership and strategic sponsorship opportunities are available with this exciting and future racing super star.
