Day one of the A3C Hip Hop Festival kicks off in Atlanta.

by quad rust

The All 3 Coast (A3C) annual Hip Hop Festival, in its 8th year, returned to Atlanta for its 3 day run. The largest event of its kind in the southern U.S. drew in nearly 300 independent/ established artists, producers, designers, filmmakers and fans of Hip-Hop culture, for networking, building, performances, panel discussions, and demonstrations. Thousands of attendees converged on Atlanta from all sectors of the music industry for the family-friendly, well-rounded showcase.

Day one of the festival offered significant educational and professional development content. During the day, the A3C, sponsors, and several local businesses partnered to provide meet and greets, with artists, and music associations like Grammy and ASCAP for industry networking, and panel discussions relating to finance, licensing, business, touring and politics. Many attendees are labeling the A3C Festival as the largest and one of the only music events where legends, independent, aspiring musicians, media and like-minded music fans collectively gather under one roof and interact.

Though the majority of A3C activity was held on the grounds of the Masquerade in the Old 4th Ward, fans scrambled to keep up with more than 100 performances, taking place, simultaneously around Midtown Atlanta. It was a great platform for the independent and aspiring musician to show, that their music can be just as entertaining, sometimes, better than their established counter-parts.

Check out the video to see performances, interviews, and more of opening day, from inside the A3C Festival.
