Week 5 of “Dancing With the Stars: All-Stars” continued on Oct. 23. Like last night’s show, it was only an hour. There will be no eliminations and this week’s scores will be added to next week’s scores prior to the results show.
The couples got right down to the individual “guilty pleasures” dances. Here are the couples in order of appearance. The total score is with last night’s freestyle dance total added in.
Melissa Rycroft and Tony Dovolani danced the Tango. The judges loved it, but said they would have liked her movements a little crisper. It was noted that Sunday’s injury may have affected her performance a bit. SCORE: 27; TOTAL: 56.5
Shawn Johnson and Derek Hough danced the Rumba. This beautiful and dramatic dance caused a huge fight between the judges. Bruno loved it, Carrie Ann said an illegal lift was involved and Len said there was no hip action. Bruno gave them a 10. SCORE: 27;TOTAL: 56.5
Apolo Ohno and Karina Smirnoff danced the Samba. Carrie Ann wasn’t impressed. Len and Bruno loved it. SCORE: 27; TOTAL: 56.5
Sabrina Bryan and Louis Van Amstel danced the Waltz as Cinderella and her prince. It was a big success with both the crowd and the judges. SCORE: 29; TOTAL: 58.5
And then it was time for Team “Gangnam Style” in their bright-colored zoot suits. The dancers were:
- Gilles & Peta
- Maks & Kirstie
- Emmitt & Cheryl
- Kelly & Val
It was total chaos out on the dance floor, especially after the couples stripped to skimpy outfits, Gilles Marini sporting only a towel over tight boxers. When Bruno asked for the towel, Gilles gave it to him and finished out the evening in his undies. The dance involved lots of fun and a few slightly raunchy moves.
The judges loved it for fun value, but didn’t score it as high as last night’s Team “Call Me Maybe” freestyle dance. SCORE: 27
Points from tonight’s freestyle dance were added to last night’s individual scores.
At the end of the night, Sabrina and Louis dominated the leader board. Can they stay there? (See Sabrina & Louis dance Disco on last week’s show by clicking the video to the left of this article.)
The only way to find out is to come back next week, Monday, Oct. 29, at 8 p.m. eastern time, for Week 6 of “Dancing With the Stars” All-Stars.”
And don’t forget to use up all of your eight votes! (You can vote at ABC.com and on Facebook until 11 a.m. eastern time tomorrow, Oct. 24.)
