On October 01, 2012, Salim Mansur, immigrant, Muslim, Canadian, and intellectual gave a speech at the House of Commons standing committee on citizenship and immigration, a privilege outlining his views of the longstanding inadequacies of government implemented Multiculturalism.
Certainly, Mr. Mansur’s speech, seen inflammatory pointing out government failures, including chastising the ethnic Muslim cultural and were it not the fact that Mr. Mansur is a practicing Muslim, and author, a non Muslim Canadian with similar intellectual standing, parroting the same sentiments as Mr. Mansur, would not even be allowed near any political or media forum.
Mansur, a professor of political science at the University of Western Ontario and a newspaper columnist, recently published Delectable Lie: A Liberal Repudiation of Multiculturalism.
“October 1, 2012, Professor Salim Mansur appeared before the House of Commons Standing Committee on Citizenship and Immigration and, more or less, warned that unless Canada abandons its current multicultural policies and, accordingly, its immigration policies, we will in the not too distant future “severely undermine our liberal democracy.”
Certainly Mr. Mansur shows a voice of reason amongst a sea of culturally inept clueless politicians whose livelihood and sustainability in office is to continue to collect a Canadian taxpayer funded paycheque, while disregarding the wishes of the majority of Canadians, according to various media published polls on the subject of Muslim immigration over the years, beginning with the political landmine of cultural insensitivity in Quebec, resulting in the Bouchard-Taylor Commission of Reasonable Accommodation, more succinctly aimed at Muslims.
In 2007, Hérouxville, Quebec, Town councilor Andre Drouin, expressing similar views as Professor Salim Mansur, though more in layman terms to his town constituents received international attention outlining a Town Charter of Conduct for new immigrants, following a spate of honour killings in Canada.
Mr. Drouin, certainly suffered the slings and arrows of public and political opinion here in Canada and abroad. Coming full circle today five years later, perhaps Mr. Drouin knew something, others refused to recognize, unless they are of a celebratory nature in their own right. Case in point, Sir Ahmed Salman Rushdie, British Indian novelist and essayist whose book “The Satanic Verses”, and this summer CBS chief foreign correspondent Lara Logan, like Mr. Mansur, have both experienced Muslim culture when the Western world is not in step with Muslim religious and cultural beliefs.
CBS Lara Logan, chief foreign correspondent, covering the recent ouster of Egypt’s dictatorial rule of Hosni Mubarak, described her horrific personal experience in a recent 60 minute interview.
Ms. Logan, covering Egyptian’s celebrations, soon found throngs of thousands of Muslim celebrants, unaware in their midst that Lara Logan was being gang raped, beaten and sexually assaulted and left near death by Muslim celebrants. If not for nearby Muslim women trying to protect her and Egyptian soldiers, Ms. Logan would have been yet, another fatality at the hands of a culture who deem women as breeding stock.
More recently, last week Ms. Logan, as keynote speaker at a Better Government Association annual luncheon accused the Obama Administration and the U.S. government in general of propagating a “major lie” about terrorism by Muslim extremists, including her take on the recent murder in Benghazi, Libya of U.S. Embassy staffer Chris Stevens .
“I can’t stand that there’s a major lie being propagated about the real situation. I don’t care who’s in power. I don’t care who’s behind it,” she said.”
“When I look at what’s going on in Libya, there’s a big song and dance about whether this was a terrorist attack or a protest and you just want to scream, for God’s sake, are you kidding me?”
Three weeks ago, Salman Rushdie gave an interview on Life under a Fatwa in which his fears based on actual events and his book Satanic Verses showed what life was like when you and your family make the hit list by extremists.
Media polls conducted over the years in news publications showcase “Conversations Canadians must have with Immigration” show overwhelming Canadian public opinion demanding new Canadians assimilate into Canadian society. Political parties, regardless of Canadian public opinion continue to ignore any poll which is negative to longstanding government policy when it comes to Multiculturalism and Diversity Liberal ideals.
While Canadian Political parties continually turn a deaf ear, including a recent speech given to them by Mr. Mansur, rest assured if Mr. Mansur’s eye witness accounts of the Muslim cultural reality.
Similar views expressed by non Muslim Canadians front and centre in various public media and internet blogs, have resulted in Human rights tribunals, grandstanding politicians, bias media and other totally clueless bastards of the left wing ideology screaming hysterically that racist hate crime charges, monetary compensation, including a lengthy prison term are in order for anyone who dare express a view contrary to their own.
In the past, Canadians have been treated by clueless ethnic vote pandering grandstanding politicians. One example of many, such 2001, Hedy Fry, Federal Liberal Member of Parliament at the time was Secretary of State for Multiculturalism whose hysterical moments in the House of Commons, and widely reported in the media had falsely claimed:
“people in Prince George, B.C., are burning crosses on lawns “as we speak.” (CP)
When her hysterics proved unfounded, a resignation was not forthcoming by the liberal government of the day, leaving many Canadians wondering, Liberal Myths and Legends when repeated enough times have a tendency of becoming true, regardless of the absence of facts.
The murder trial over the March 18, 2012 Honour Killing, shows this week another culture clash over Muslim cultural beliefs versus Canadian culture. A moderate Muslim mother allowing certain western style freedoms for her children, resulted in yet another series of Honour Killing by a husband. A Muslim husband, whose penchant for the cultural knife of god, repeatedly butchered and brutally near decapitated his wife. Again Canadians are exposed to yet another example of a family matriarch failing to abide to a strict Muslim culture, while living on Canadian soil. Politicians all, quickly dispel that Honour Killings are a myth.
The Canadian versus Immigration reality is, those who rely on large segments of ethnic special interests and immigrant voting blocs, look only to boost party fortunes and it appears Mr. Mansur’s recent speech, has politicians quick to dispel logic, reality and any first eye witness accounts.
If Mr. Mansur, a practicing Muslim, educator, and noted author speaking to politicians on this tender topic falls on deaf political ears, what chance does Canadian public opinion have when mirroring the same sentiments to their elected officials?
