The SEMA show in Las Vegas is the premier showcase for after-market products. It attracts a wide range of automotive enthusiasts, whether they are retailers, manufacturers, mechanics, or hobbyists. The Chrysler company, like many of its competitors, will have a huge presence at the show October 30 – Nov 2nd.
This year, most of the Chrysler branded vehicles will feature Mopar accessories, performance equipment, and parts. They are calling these outfitted vehicles as being ‘Moparized.” There will be over 500 different Mopar parts featured on the various vehicles in the Chrysler display booth.
Peitro Gorlier is President and CEO of Mopar, Chrysler’s brand for parts and service. Gorlier commented, “We hope the showgoers look at each of these vehicles and get inspired to customize and accessorized their own rides.”
Among the various featured vehicles at the Chrysler display will be a Ram 1500. The 2013 Ram has already begun to receive awards in the various model forms, including the popular Longhorn Edition. Ram 1500 won TRUCK OF THE YEAR honors from AutoJudge, the awards competition sponsored by SEMA member Texas Auto Media. The Ram 1500 was also recently named as the TRUCK OF THE YEAR at the annual Truck Rodeo conducted by the Texas Auto Writers Association.
The Ram 1500 featured at the SEMA show will be called the Urban Ram. It will be outfitted with a 392 HEMI engine, Mopar headers, cold-air intake, and performance dual exhaust. At the other end of the extreme from the Ram pickup is the little Fiat 500. The Fiat 500 has attracted a lot of attention among fashion conscious buyers. The Fiat 500 comes is a variety of model variations, but the SEMA special display Fiat will be called a Beach Cruiser. This Beach Cruiser Fiat 500 will be a very playful adaptation of a West Coast vehicle, including a surf motif. The car will feature a charcoal matte-finish gray, a widened body, old style fender flares, and red paint on the wheel rims. The Fiat 500 Beach Cruiser will also sport a Mopar roof rack surfboard carrier. There are a lot of visual cues from the vintage hot rod culture. This is a must-see photo opportunity.

The Jeep Grand Cherokee is the most awarded SUV – ever. But the Jeep Grand Cherokee you will see on display at the Chrysler exhibit at SEMA might not be recognizable. It is being called a Half & Half, which is an imaginative demonstration of how a Mopar makeover can show both the ‘before’ and ‘after.’ There will be a zipper-style graphic down the center of the Jeep Grand Cherokee. One side will be a Deep Cherry Pearl Coat stock issue Laredo model. The other side will be a stylized Grand Cherokee using many of the hundreds of thousands of available parts and accessories to ‘personalize’ the vehicle.
The Dodge Charger is used quite often by custom hot-rodders to make the Charger ‘their own.” Mopar parts and accessories will demonstrate what an average-type Charger owner can do to made this Dodge vehicle a custom street rod. It will be called the Dodge Charger Juiced. The centerpice is the Viper V-10 Mopar crate engine. The Viper V-10 belts out 650 horsepower. Adding a cold air intake and a cat-back exhaust bumps up the horsepower even more .
Sometimes a few people get lucky and are able to take the SRT Viper out onto a racetrack. The Chrysler display at SEMA will feature a new 2013 SRT Viper that is being called a supercar. The SRT Viper is a race-inspired, yellow that uses lightweight carbon fiber parts, and a lot more. The X-Brace is approximate 50 percent lighter than the factory version.
