Country superstar Carrie Underwood has officially announced new tour dates for her critically acclaimed Blown Away Tour that will extend the North American leg into 2013. Currently, the Oklahoma-born singer is out on the first round of concerts, 55 to be exact, that will wrap up just before Christmas. By adding 40 more cities, the tour will continue with Hunter Hayes as special guest and total over 100 shows.
Beginning on February 13 at the Colorado Springs World Arena in Colorado Springs, Colo., Underwood will travel the four corners of the country, chartering new stops in Texas, West Virginia and Pennsylvania, among many more. Tickets go on sale in select markets on Friday, November 2. A donation of $1 per ticket sold will remain an integral part of the 2013 tour to support Red Cross disaster relief.
Underwood’s “2008 “Carnival Ride Tour” and 2010 “Play On Tour” performed for a combined total of nearly 250 shows with 2.2 million fans in attendance, and she wrapped both years as the top-ranked female country touring artist,” according to a press release. This year, fan and critic reaction has been overwhelmingly positive, with many media outlets reporting “spectacular production” and “amazing vocals.”
CMT reviewed:
“Start to finish, it will be tough for any country artist to top what Underwood is delivering on this tour.”
Likewise, the LA Times expressed over-the-top praise for the singer:
“A spectacular production…full of dazzling costume changes, creative staging and megawatts of musical wattage.”
