The cold front that passed through the region during the early morning hours will be responsible for ushering in some autumn like air to the region through the coming weekend. There will be a few more clouds in the sky at times today in the wake of a frontal boundary as a weak upper level disturbance passes well north of the region. A fresh northwesterly breeze will also develop during the daytime hours, and when combined with temperatures around 70 degrees, will make for a delightful mid September day.
High pressure will crest over the region late tonight and tomorrow, bringing continued fair weather and dry conditions, albeit with a bit below normal temperature readings, though not way below normal by any means. As the high pressure area moves east of the region on Monday, slightly milder air will filter in to the area.
Attention will then shift to our west and south by the midweek period as an area of low pressure develops over the Great Lakes. This low pressure area will be tied to a cold front that may very well interact with a southern system that will be lifting northward from the Tennessee Valley region at the same time. The potential for a soaking rainfall is possible Tuesday and into the first part of Wednesday across the region as these systems encroach upon the area.
