Gail has been very brave and determined to rid her body of cancer with alternative treatment. She has used mainly black salve as a poultice to draw the cancer out. For the most part it worked, she lost a glob of cancer that came out through her breast, but found that it was not all of it. So continues our correspondence via email.

Me: I was very impressed with the photos you took. I think it was very brave of you to have tried that approach. I did not know that black salve could kill healthy skin too. I was disappointed with that part of it. So how are you healing up? So far so good? I hope you got it all. So how big was the glob that you burned in the back yard? Just wondering. My mom said hers was like a piece of liver.
Have a great day.
Jan 13, 2012
Gail: Oh, I thought I sent a pic of the ‘glob’ . it was the size of the spot/hole it left. About 3×4” and about ½” thick. It was like very, very firm gelatin – Yea, like liver! I found that wherever the salve was it dissolved the tissue and turned it to gelatin. But remember the salve was on for a week. Other times when I used it I left it on only 1-2 days, then rinsed it with hydrogen peroxide. But………. method leaves it on and covered for a week. During that time I changed the bandage (after 3 days) and only about half of the area seemed to be reacting (I believe that the area that was reacting is the area where the cancer was – and perhaps if I had rinsed the salve off that area would have been spared…)
As far as healing on 1/3 (4wks after applying salve)………. reapplied a spot the size of a pin head, then this week 1/12, reapplied in 2 spots the size of a lentil. So at least the pain wasn’t a problem this week, just a tiny bit of burning. I go again Tuesday and we shall see. oh, also she applied redmonds clay to the area around the tiny spot with more salve to protect it and allow it to heal more.
Recapping this is good for me to document it for future reference.
Thanks for the link I’m going to look at it a little later.
Also thank you for your support.
Boy, it’s a beautiful sunny day – but cold. Not too cold – about 28. Really too cold for my pleasure.

Me: I couldn’t open them (referring to some photos) :( Sorry. So how are you? M
Gail: Yesterday was a bad day for me. I was in pain and was crying at work – felt very discouraged. Still feeling pretty down today, but better.
Maybe I just have had too much flax seed…???? Maybe a little hormonal ??? I think just discouraged that the tumor is still there.
You know ive been pressing on it, pressing it toward the active salve spot. The tumor is above the salve area now, behind the nipple. The whole top half of my breast is hurting. When I removed the tape to take this photo, ohhhh it’s very sensitive. And it feels hard and sore…I’m a bit concerned. But I should know to just wait a few days, it can change quickly. Hope it improves. I have an appointment with Dr. ……. on Tuesday.
Here are the pics again. The first image is this morning. The other one is after it finished on 12/22/11 and was starting to heal.
Would it be okay to call you in about an hour?
Me: Oooh it looks so sore, I’m so sorry, call me in an hour. I’ll be home.
Feb 27, 2012
Gail: I was bad today. I ate a girl scout cookie. Coconut something…
The sun is shining. YEAH!
Gotta go, just wanted to say hi and I appreciate your friendship.
Me: I appreciate your friendship too. :) M
Me: Gail, Try tapping, you might say something like: “even though this really hurts, my body can compensate and minimize the pain. I believe that I am wonderfully made and know my body is taking care of the issue and trying it’s best to heal and reject any cancer and I appreciate it, I love myself.” See if that helps.
Thanks I’ll do it.
(do you think tapping works when you just say it in your head?)
Me: not sure, call my cell I’m going to town. M

Gail: Hi Mare:
Last week I went to Dr………. She recommended hydrogen peroxide treatment and a book she refers to ‘Healing With Whole Foods: Asian Traditions and Modern Nutrition (3rd Edition) by Paul Pitchford
I ordered the book since it outlines a diet she recommended. But there are only 2 paragraphs which I’m having trouble translating into a diet. I need some time to look at the book, which just arrived (Amazon).
I’m looking forward to reviewing this attached book too. I started the h2o2 last week 1 drop in aloe vera juice.
My wound is getting close to healing.
Anyway I just thought you might find this attached book interesting https://docs.google.com/viewer?a=v&pid=gmail&attid=0.1&thid=135ee186e5603354&mt=application/pdf&url=https://mail.google.com/mail/?ui%3D2%26ik%3D0c62916c9d%26view%3Datt%26th%3D135ee186e5603354%26attid%3D0.1%26disp%3Dsafe%26zw&sig=AHIEtbR-Bqvug4g8dD4PP79F5JSM0wFexQ
Better go. I’ll give ya a call later.
Big Hug with a Big Smile!!

Me: Hi Gail,
Thanks for the information. I hope we weren’t discouraging for you. I did check out the h2o2 information and now I want to try it too. I am looking to see where I can buy some. I sounds really good. I only heard about it and never really read much nor did I check out testimonials before, but now I have and plan on trying it myself.
I have been taking some Chlorella and Spirulina from Dr.Mercola’s website and think it is doing something for me. My urine smells different and I feel like I am cleansing somehow. Slow but sure. I have been drinking less coffee and trying to avoid sugar.
I am up super early this morning because —- came back from his parents home wound up like a top and he was up a 3:00 am pacing the floor and doing some self talk (more like self yell). So I got up and gave him some melatonin. He is quiet now and probably asleep and here I am checking my emails etc. Not fair.
Keep up the good work and don’t listen to any negative comments from me or anyone else. I will let you know how it goes when I find the peroxide. I want to try it for our issues over here. I think it will work. :) I’ll get — on it too.
March 12, 2012
Gail: Don’t be concerned. You were not discouraging. — just mentions what he knows, that’s a good thing, he’s trying to be helpful.
Spirulina is great stuff – complete protein, you could live on it. Chlorella is important for cleansing. There’s something else that is a good cleanser, I’ll look it up. Of coarse there’s always coffee enemas. (you have to use weak, organic coffee – it stimulates the liver to work)
(She’d rather drink it) I gave up coffee over a year ago. I’ve had 2 small cups since then – I just cheated – as a treat – a latte – YUM!
I better get to work.
Oh, by the way… you said get aloe vera at walmart. What brand is it? We have a local grocery store that has a really good health food section. I bought “Lily of the desert” from them. I’ll check walmart when I can.
March 15, 2012
Me: Hey girl,
Thanks for the recipes, I’m going to try some of them. I use coconut oil mixed with geranium essential oil to moisturize my face. It has helped my wrinkles greatly :) I get it from doTerra.
March 22, 2012
Gail: …also, Friday i used the salve, left it on for 12 hours, then not much happened. so Saturday i applied it for 24 hours, and it started to ‘cook’. But it hasnt changed much the last couple days. i think it is just on the surface. i have a yellow spot, but i don’t think it has really penetrated. SO i put another dollop of salve this am. (smaller than a lentil – just on the yellow patch) it is sore, but i did read that sometimes it takes a couple applications. and i want it to work…..do you know what your mother’s experience was?
if you have any thoughts, please share them…
April 29, 2012
Me: How are you doing? I hope better and happier. Are the cleaning jobs working out? Haven’t heard from you for awhile and thought I’d check in. I am okay.
May 5, 2012
Gail: sorry, ive been busy and havent checked my email for awhile…hey i’m not at a desk anymore….
im okay, in pain the last few days. applied the salve in a small spot 2 weeks ago, it hadnt been too painful. but this last tuesday applied it to a lower spot (that was recovering-not completely healed) and it has hurt this week. well a couple more days and it should be much better.
sorry about my phone, the reception sometimes is terrible and i cant make out what people are saying. i think i need a new/different phone. we are using ****** – it’s really cheap, but don’t know if it is going to be great since the phone is crummy….
i was just completing job apps on line. so i was on the computer….
well, better get back to it…

Both of us very busy during the summer months then:
September 17, 2012
Gail: Congrats on the puppy. how nice for you all.
things have been very busy. my mother in law had a serious stroke just over a month ago and we’ve been spending alot of time with her. she is in a rehab place. she has no use of her right side (arm/leg) and she can’t speak. she is getting out a few words but it’s not easy for her. she’s 87 and that goes against her too. however she’s been a busy gal. —–&—— have been helping alot too, they are in ——- which is 3 hours away. thankfully …… them close because of their mom. our hope is to have her come live with us, but it appears that it won’t be too soon.
i started a part time bookkeeping job working about 22 hrs a week and we still have the apartment cleaning (although we haven’t had any for more than 2 weeks – i hope they haven’t found someone else..you never know. we did have another weekly cleaning job that cancelled because they were cutting back…. i’ve been discouraged. things have rather gone from bad to worse. ……… my breast has been bothering me alot. i’m afraid it’s getting worse. it doesnt seem to have gotten any larger though. i’ve been trying to get insurance since i figured i better have a masectomy. and when it looked like it was going to work and id get some, a snag came and i was just a few days over the coverage period…those have been the kind of events that get my hopes up and then let down and have caused some discouragement. really i just need some mornings off so i can recharge a bit.
well, i better go to work.
you take care and enjoy your puppy.
i’ll chat with you later.
thanks so much for the email.

Me: Did you read this? Wow, good information. Love ya, Marilyn
yea, i saw it but didnt read it
i know that excercise is very important, also sunshine.
i’m suppose to excercise 1/2 hour every day, but honestly i dont usually have time.
i tried the rebounder since i could do it when its dark outside and i cant walk, but then i get hip pain…so figure (ha ha) so i need to try something else. mostly i need a new routine. (i use to walk to work and that was great but now i work too far away…) well i’ll keep trying
you TOO, excercise is very important for everyone. just think how in the new system we will be able to do all the things that we now know are healthy just because they will be part of our natural daily events, even whether or not we do it intentionally for the benefit, and we will be healthy anyway….
Jehovah knows how we should live!

Me: How are you? Is the stress level still high? How is your mother in law? I hope you are okay.
I want to write an article about your experience with dealing with breast cancer. May I? Also I would like to use your photos too, but of course, I wouldn’t never use your name without your permission. I could change your name to “protect the innocent” if you like. Please let me know asap.
Thank you so much,
October 18, 2012
sorry im so slow in returning your message.
mother in law is moving in with us tomorrow. she still is paralyzed on right side and can not speak much and is incontinent. oh boy. —- will have the main responsibility, since i am working every day.
i’m okay with you writing an article, as long as the photos dont have my face or any identifying feature. just use ‘case study’ or other identifier for name, that is to say no name. (or okay to say name has been changed for privacy)
better go. time to go to nursing home.
i’ll write next week – okay. :)
Me: Hi Gail, Here is the first article. I am going to write another one to finish it off.
ps. I am hoping that the article will be informative for other women who don’t have insurance and/or want to try something alternative. Thanks for being a good sport and letting me do it. I love you bunches and wish there was something I could do. I will pray for you and is there anything specific you want me to pray for? Also don’t forget to do the EFT technique.
Gail: i should give you a list of the books that i read, and the other treatments that i use.
i’ll try to do it this weekend. i’m at work now.
hope all is well with you!
Gail: Hi Mare:
how are you. i hope you’re well.
can you send me a link to your doterra site? and did you tell me it was frankensence i should use?
i’ll write more later.
Me: Yes Gail, it is Frankincense and Rosemary both are anticancer. http://www.doterra.myvoffice.com/marilynemagee/
How are you doing?
It is now November 17, 2012, Gail has been battling breast cancer for over two years now. She has had many stressful events, including her husband having little or no work, she got laid off from her job by the “out of control boss” who had caused her tremendous stress (probably a blessing in disguise), and now is taking care of her mother-in-law who recently moved in with her and her husband. These kind of events do little to aid in the healing process, but sometimes we don’t have control over things that occur but can only do our best to overcome difficulties. That is precisely what Gail has done and continues to do.
I can only admire her tenacity and her efforts to be in control of her own health. If she decides to have a mastectomy I will support that too. She can only be given praise for her efforts to battle this vicious cancer and all should be supportive to all of the women out there who also want to be in control of their body and heal the way they choose whatever that may be.
I wrote this article to give those who opt out of the cut, burn, or poison mentality, although if that is what some choose to do then we should respect their choice. With all of the links included in our emails, I was hoping to give another woman a starting point, information to read, and links to go to for alternative methods available.
Exact diet information was not included. I will update this information later when I get that from Gail. I will also include some other sources that can be looked into. I hope someone has benefited from this personal account of my dear friend Gail and her battle with breast cancer.
Thank you for reading my column and please don’t forget to like and subscribe -Marilyn.
