Gulf Coast USBC is working hard for this seasons BVL fundraiser. They are very strong on their charity of choice, which is raising money for the local Veterans at Bay Pines Hospital.
This coming December on the 8th, they will be having their 3rd Annual Parking Lot Sale at Seminole Lanes, in the north end of the center. They raise anywhere between $400-$500 each day. They depend on friends, bowlers, and family, anyone to donate items for the sale. If you would be interested in dropping off books, knick-knacks, baby items, clothes you can either call the office at 727-399-2695 or email them at firstname.lastname@example.org and arrange a time to drop off items. Clean out your closets, your garage, and send your items their way for the Veterans.
The name of the charity is BVL – Bowlers to Veterans Link. BVL was founded in 1942, by the sport of bowling to help support American Heroes in uniform. Bowling centers and bowling associations do fundraisers throughout their season raising money for their local veterans, for state veterans and national veterans. Some save money to send a portable bowling lane to troops afar.
BVL is one of the sport’s most successful charities. Raising almost $30 million for our American heroes.
Also the BVL supports an organization called Re-Creation and they perform at Veterans Hospitals and State Veterans homes throughout the country. Each year they try to send $500 of what we collect to Re-Creation. They see them perform when they go to the National Convention.
On January 12, 2013, Gulf Coast will host a bowl-a-thon at Twedt’s Bowling Center on Seminole Blvd, just south of Ulmerton Road. Here they will do a 9 pin no tap to raise money. They will also have a silent auction. The silent auction is very successful. In years past they have had hotel stays, bowling items, Ray’s basket, and other fun items. So be on the lookout for a flyer. Start asking your friends and family for donations for the bowl – a – thon. Gulf Coast will send their board members out to leagues, the week before the bowl-a-thon to collect donations.
If you know of a business or your business would like to make a donation to Gulf Coast silent auction, you can contact Patsy at email@example.com and she can help you out.
