If your bunny is a sociable, laid back type who enjoys attention from strangers and is not stressed by noise and crowds, then by all means bring him to Midwest BunFest this Saturday! On the other hand, if your bunny will be upset by so much activity and so many new sights and sounds, then it would be better to leave him at home. In that case, however, you will then need to shop for Gifts of Appeasement with which to avert their wrath at being left behind.
Nothing says ‘I’m sorry for enjoying myself without you’ like some handcrafted wooden toys or organically grown hays and other treats. Last year’s BunFest had a variety of vendors as well as rescue groups selling all kinds of toys, treats and accessories for the long-eared bunch, including Cottontail Cottages, Conne Cowan’s handcrafted toys, hay boxes and Einstein toys, as well as vendors selling homemade Critical Care ‘cookies’.
The 2012 Midwest BunFest will have even more great vendors than last year’s event, including Connie Cowan herself, bringing some of her newest items, as well as Bogie’s road crew, Debby and Vic, who will be bringing Debby’s handmade jewelry items! Black Pug Pottery will be there too, with some of their beautiful, uniquely handcrafted pottery.
The Hop Shop is the place to stock up on hay and other supplies, wicker toys and tasty treats for rabbits and other small animals (available this year by popular demand – the Hair Buster Comb)!
If you are looking for Midwest BunFest Logo Merchandise, the Bunny Boutique has a great selection of tee shirts, magnets, pins, grooming aprons, and more, along with rabbit collectibles, holiday items and unique gift items. Proceeds from your purchase benefit Ohio House Rabbit Rescue.
Stock up on gifts for all of the animal lovers on your list and pick up small animal toys and treats for your ‘fur-kids’! Most of last year’s vendors brought unique items unavailable in local pet stores including hard-to-find bunny toys, treats, and hay and other edible greens lovingly grown just for bunnies. Unusual handcrafted items will also be offered. The holidays are right around the corner – why not get your holiday shopping done early and benefit pet rescue groups at the same time? You can check out the vendors here.
There’s more! The 2012 Midwest BunFest will also feature a silent auction and raffle with even more truly unique and not-just-bunny-related items, including gift baskets. For a list of selected silent auction and raffle items, please go here.
Admission to Midwest BunFest is only $5 ($3 for kids under 12). Midwest BunFest is this Saturday October 27, 2012, from 9:30 to 5:00 at the Whitehall Community Park Activities Building, 402 N. Hamilton Rd., Whitehall, Ohio 43213 – near the Columbus airport.
See you Saturday!
