Friday was day two of BK Fashion Weekend Spring Summer 2013, were six international designer and one representing the USA held runway shows presenting their latest womenswear collections. Designers hailed from Western and Easter Europe, North America, and the Middle East. The looks between collections ranged from playful day-time knitwear, urban-chic, luxury resort and experimental minimalism, to red carpet evening couture gowns.
George Strood is a designer based in the United Kingdom. She presented six knitted outfits that were white with handmade designs by the designer. One piece representing the sexy and confident tone that Ms. Strood strives to have her clothes project is a white tank top, and short shorts with white and lavender drawings.
Montaha Couture by Kuwaiti designer Montaha Alajeel featured 21 unique looks. The designer used a mix of fabrics such as silk, chiffon and cotton to create a collection that pays tribute to the Middle Eastern woman’s since of culture and tastes, in combination with fashion style.
Franz Patrick Albana is a young Canadian designer. His 12 look runway show collection was called “Experimentation plus gravity”. The first eleven models walked the runway in unique various of a light grey outfit, a black fabric masking their face, and in most cases, a single piece of metal jewelry designed to look like tools or instruments. The final dress was all black with a conical right sleeve, and left sleeves that extended into a very long whip.
Franziska Michael showed 12 looks from her Spring Summer 2013 collection. The German based designer was inspired by urban culture and wanted to collection to “project notions of futuristic tribalism and utopia”. Ms. Michael has a penchant to emphasize contrast. One such look is a dark short sleeved blouse with geometric recurring patters mixed with a light green pant that has organic green hemp look to it.
Eva Cammarata Summer 2013 collection is titled Arkei from a mythical story. Her fashion show consisted of sixteen women’s outfits and one outfit for men. The colors were bright and summery with white, orange, green and blue being the most common colors. Eva Cammarata is an eco-friendly fashion line that uses technology and organic material to create sustainable clothing.
RadaStyle by Tatyana Sycheva from Belarus featured 15 looks from her collecion of Sophie Hallette lace and silk.
Jovani Fashion based in the USA closed the evening with a runway show of 14 red carpet evening dresses. The collection’s designer is Julie DuRocher. Many of the gowns were of a pale nude, and gold tone, with a number of white, one green dress, a dress with peacock feathers, and the designer’s favorite; the last dress, a dress with dark green strips of material, crystals, tiny blue discs, and a skirt of bird feathers.
