While a third of the nation braces for what’s being termed the worst storm on record, the rest of us watch prayerfully and hope that Sandy fizzles out a bit.
Many of us are putting the finishing touches on Halloween costumes or decorations today or re-doing a few costumes details from weekend Halloween festivities in time for trick-or-treating on Wednesday.
Lots of paranormal and supernatural enthusiasts are looking forward to the thinning veil between the material plane and the ‘other side’ as described in the creative poem on this link.
My daughter and a friend were recently discussing the topic of ghosts, and they asked me if I believed in ghosts, to which I answered, “of course,” and then shared a few personal encounters with them. They asked me if I was afraid of ghosts.
“There’s nothing to be afraid of about ghosts; be more afraid of the souls that have bodies; they can still hurt you!”
The altruistic, universal love dynamic of the Aquarian Age expresses itself through the growing social awareness of the conditions of humanity so that we can adjust our consciousness and priorities accordingly.

This week we celebrate Halloween on Wednesday, All Saint’s Day on November 1st, and on Friday, we celebrate both All Soul’s Day and Dia de Muertos, aka, Day of the Dead, in Mexico and other cultures. This ominous sounding celebration honors loved ones who have died.
Follow these links for some fun Halloween facts.
For example, Jack-O-Lanterns used to be carved out of turnips or beets, not pumpkins!
For most of the nation, we change our clocks back to Standard Time on Sunday, November 4th at 2 a.m., so remember to change your clocks before bedtime on Saturday.
In the celebrity world, here’s a few who share zodiacal kinship with birthday’s this week:
Jenny McCarthy, Larry Flynt, David Schwimmer, Roseanne, Matthew McConaughey, and Doris Roberts.
Planet-by-planet vs. sign-by-sign forecasts
Traditional astrology forecasts use a sign-by-sign guide which tends to override a critical element of the human condition: free will.
A sign-by-sign forecast suggests to each zodiac sign how those people should approach their reality for the period of the forecast.
Being susceptible to the power of suggestion and subconsciously driven, we are drawn to these forecasts because somewhere inside of us we imagine and hope that there will be a pearl of wisdom that will open the doors to our essential freedom; a key that will unlock the door to our happiness.
A planet-by-planet guide is like a weather forecast. A planetary guide describes the zodiacal conditions that will exist during the forecast period and allows each individual the right to choose how he/she will respond.
Souls can’t grow without exercising free will.
The Week Ahead in the Zodiac
The Sun is in resourceful Scorpio this week and with Saturn in this same sign within 10 degrees of each other, a conjunct is in effect.
A conjunct between two planets indicates power, energy and emphasis. The qualities of these two planets (Sun and Moon are called planets for ease of communication) is highlighted for the duration of the conjunct.
The Full Moon is in Taurus on Monday, but around noon on Wednesday, it will move into Gemini for the rest of the week until just past midnight on Saturday when it will be in Cancer.
Mercury, which rules the five human senses has just moved into gregarious Sagittarius. Mercury is in its detriment, for it lacks concentration here and details can be easily overlooked. Perceptions will be especially keen and acute, if one can be quiet, still and reflective.
Venus and her values has just shifted into her homeland, Libra, where beauty, balance and pleasure abound.
Action-oriented Mars in all-or-nothing Scorpio makes healing activities especially powerful, but exaggerated anger outbursts must be curbed.
Expansive Jupiter is still playing in restless Gemini, its detriment, for it makes Jupiter too scattered and critical. Forgiveness must be exercised in relationships when harsh tongues and rash speech occur.
Responsible Saturn in passionate Scorpio is receiving lots of pop astrology hype, and while it is a potent combination, it’s important to focus on Saturn’s role for us:
Saturn represents our ability to find our place in society and function at a practical level – our society ego. It is the laws, boundaries, and limits set by society or Karma; structures.
Saturn is the principle of contraction and crystallization; safety urges; discipline; organization; ambition. Limitation and delay happen so that Saturn can teach us. Saturn is wisdom gained through experience. Self-preservation.
Saturn rules Capricorn and the 10th house. Saturn rules teeth, bones, knees, skin, gall bladder, calcium balance, paralysis, right ear, colds, chills, rheumatism.
The restricting capacity of Saturn is evident in the candle-snuffer shape of this glyph.
- Five positive keywords: experience, patience, humility, wisdom, compassion.
- Five basic keywords: restraint, limitation, caution, law, self-discipline.
- Five negative keywords: testing, sorrow, delay, disappointment, limitation.
Wherever Saturn is placed in your natal chart is where you have to face tests and setbacks. In other words, you will be tested in the affairs the house rules and will need to examine your motives toward those affairs. You can be sure that in the house that Saturn falls, in previous lifetimes your attitude or approach to the house affairs has been incorrect.
The basic personality function of this planet is to test us until we learn man’s purpose in life. Saturn represents the father.
For now and for quite a while to come, the Zodiac’s backfield will remain the same: Uranus, the Awakener is in independent Aries; Neptune, the Dissolover is at home in sympathetic Pisces; Pluto, the Transformer is in ambitious Capricorn.
Have a great week! Our will is our life!
