The first thing you might want to ask yourself when it comes to the astrological significance of any given full Moon is…”What was a seeding, what intention did I set during the previous new Moon 2 weeks ago?” The new Moon in Virgo was on September 15, 2012 at 8:11 PM (mountain time). What did you set in motion at that time? Whatever it was got challenged or relinquished last weekend at the first quarter Moon and will come to some kind of fruition today. The exact hour of the full Moon is September 29, 2012 at 9:20 PM (mountain time).
This new/full Moon cycle is a powerful one and it’s never too late to get your intention on track and it’s never too late to take responsibility for your thoughts, actions and emotions.
For this full Moon, the Sun is in Libra and the Moon in Aries at 7 degrees and 22 inches. For those of you who are keeping track, you will know that Pluto is at 6 degrees and 59 inches Capricorn and Uranus is at 6 degrees 31 inches (retrograding currently). What does this mean? Mathematically speaking, it means that Pluto is making a 90 degree angle to both, the Sun and to the Moon/Uranus. Astrologically speaking, this is called a t-sqaure configuration. But wait! There’s more. The dwarf planet Ceres (grain and fertility goddess, mother of Persephone) has just entered Cancer and is at 0 degrees Cancer and 43 inches, opposing Pluto and at 90 degree angles to the Sun and Moon/Uranus. In addition, the asteroid Pallas Athena (war goddess, sprung from Zeus’ head!) is at 1 degree Aries and 2 inches (retrograding) which puts her in the mix too to share space and energy with Moon/Uranus!
Translation: The planets at the time of the full Moon are forming a grand cross configuration. A grand cross is an energetic (and sometimes very literal) crossroads. Because the full Moon is about fruition AND because this grand cross includes the on-going and extremely catalytic Uranus-Pluto square, it will serve us well to spend our day furthering our intentions toward sustainability and right-livlihood. It’s a good day to be in nature and take in the meaning and grace of the autumn time, the time of falling away and decay. Pluto most naturally is always pulling at those things (emotions, habits, things, relationships, negative thought patterns, jobs, houses, etc.) that no longer serve us. Thank them and let them go…sounds easier than maybe it is, but with these astrological alignments, WE MUST! The alternative is stagnation.
Get yourself moving! Shake things up! Remember that habits rise up, intensify as they are going down. As astrologer Stephanie Austin says “This is the death rattle of the old paradigm and the birth pangs of a new reality. We are all going through this together…”
Oh, and by the way….On October 5th Saturn leaves Libra and enters Scorpio…more on that later!
