Welcome to another week of “America’s Next Top Model: College Edition.” Last week
The girls went on go-sees, with Laura booking 2 of the 6 designers. Kiara, Nastasia and Kristin also booked a job, leaving just Victoria and Brittany as the only two without a booking.
The girls also did a photo shoot in prison where they had to portray 50’s retro bad girls in fashion mug shots. In the end, Laura ended up with top photo with Brittany and Victoria in the bottom two, and Brittany being eliminated. We also learned that it is time for the girl that has the highest social media scores from the girls eliminated, including now Brittany, will come back to the competition. But… Tyra left the name of the girl coming back to be announced next week.
That week has now come, and the episode starts where it left off, and Tyra says that the girls will have their scores flashed on the screen, starting with the lowest, and ending up with the girl who will return. That girl and the girls currently in the competition will be going on a plane to their international destination of Jamaica. Lowest to highest are:
So, Leila is back, and the current girls don’t seem too thrilled about it, but they play nice anyway.
Everyone heads back to the house to pack up to go to Jamaica. After arriving in Jamaica, the girls board a rainbow-colored bus, where they meet 6 male models – one for each girl. They pair up, and start chatting between each other.
The bus arrives at a big building on a beach where there are dancers and music, and Tyra. She tells them this is their new home, and it’s where she shot her first swimsuit calendar. The girls and guys go check out the house, and there is even a Tyra Suite here too.
Later, they sit down with Tyra and she discusses that most of the popular models of the day are either smizers or toochers. In other words, they are strong with their face or their bodies. She says the top, top models are both smizers and toochers. This prompts Victoria to say that she feels she is a mixture of both. Tyra corrects her, saying she is a toocher, and refers to her prison photo from the previous shoot, where her body looked great, but there was nothing in her face. Nastasia asks about poses you would use in a sexy photo, and Tyra tells her to pop a side tooch.
Kiara asks if Tyra thinks she is a smizer or a toocher, and Tyra says she is a toocher, and she needs to work with her eyes more. Korey, one of the male models, whom Kiara is attracted to says he likes how she works her eyes, and Kiara gets happily embarrassed.
It’s time for the girls to have their first challenge. The bus takes them to the city of Falmouth, where they meet up with Jonté, who is their movement coach, and another gentleman, whom Jonté introduces as Konshens, who is a popular dance hall artist in Jamaica. Jonté tells the girls they will have to create a dance routine to music, and they have to remember to tooch and smize. They’ll be in pairs — Laura and Kristin, Kiara and Nastasia, and Victoria and Leila. The winning pair will receive some fantastic jewelry, plus $10,000 added to her scholarship fund.
The girls go and practice together, and it seems that Kiara and Nastasia have the most moves. Although in her past, she danced in a Siamese ballet, Victoria seems very awkward, and Laura and Kristin seem to try to hard to look model-ly
The girls do their thing and Laura and Kristin earn a 7, Victoria and Leila earn an 8, but the winners are Kiara and Nastasia with a 9. Mean girls Laura and Kristin can’t believe that Victoria and Leila had a better score than they did.
Back at the house, Kiara and Nastasia see their jewelry prizes, and Kiara interviews that she feels she is doing well with the challenge wins. She has $30,000 in her scholarship fund (just like Laura). The only other girl with money in her scholarship is Nastasia, who just won $10,000 for this challenge win.
The next day, the girls are taken in the bus to their photo shoot location, which is out by a river. Rob, Johnny and their cameraman is William Richards arrive via a raft. The photo shoot theme is about a woman in a love triangle. They will be married to Rob, yet attracted to the river boat guide, who is played by one of the male models they met earlier.
Victoria goes all out once more, coming up with a storyline for her photo shoot, how she is an affluent woman whose family made her marry Rob, but she’s having an affair with the local bad boy. Rob interviews that you want to like Victoria, but she’s just so over the top with her stories.
Laura seems to do well in her shoot. Leila does so-so, and really tooches. Nastasia looks very royal and Johnny says she killed it. Kristin seems to need a lot of direction during her shoot. Kiara is very awkward, as she picks Korey, whom she really is attracted to, so she is distracted during her shoot.
Back at the model home, the girls receive the elimination Tyra Mail.
“Tomorrow you will meet with the judges. Only 5 will continue on in the hope of becoming America’s Next Top Model.”
In judging, Tyra introduces the judges, talks about the prizes, and then it’s time for the critiques. I’ll post the scores in sets of 3, in order, Kelly, Tyra and Rob, from left to right.
· Nastasia – 8, 7, 10
· Leila – 8, 6, 8
· Kiara – 6, 6, 7
· Victoria – 6, 7, 6
· Kristin – 6, 8, 7
· Laura – 8, 9, 9
The social media scores are added in and the call-outs are as follows:
The bottom two were Kiara and Victoria. Kiara has a higher score, and she will stay in the competition, while Victoria can go home to her mom.
Next week, the girls will pose in waterfall photos for Tyra, who is their photographer. They’ll also do their shoot for ANTM’s “Dream Come True” fragrance. Tune in next Friday, Oct. 2, at 8:00 p.m. on The CW.
